I can already tell you what Cities Xl 2012 will be.

It will be exactly cities xl 2011. The same interface, the same buildings, the same terrain, everything will be exactly the same. There will be a few new landmarks, a few new buildings, a few new maps, and maybe a new feature or two that are of course initially badly implemented and barely functioning. It will be buggy and slow and the game balance will feel untested. It will be little more than a minor update sold as a new game.

Wake me up when someone finishes this game.

Until then, SC4 + Community Mods is the most polished experience IMHO.

Agree. Honestly, less than year of development is not enough to make significant changes to the game. And this game needs a lot of changes. What is the worst thing that it took three months to release a single "patch" (lets call it hotfix, it fixed nothing and any other company would be able to release it in day after game's launch...). What's even worse is the fact people will buy this again -> they will release hotfix, if we are lucky and we will be promised how they will support community -> they will announce CXL 2013 = NHL/FIFA in city builder gender is here.

Focus seems to be small company for such a big project. CXL was nothing, but CXL 09 with some news, BROKEN content and now, they want me to pay more for new game, but they are not even able to fix the current game... No, thank you Focus.

Focus just should sell this game to cappable company and stop trying to milk us for nothing...

To be honest since the release of CiM I am not interested in CXL anymore, as CiM has all the features I was looking for and with simple modding you can influence everything and even can build/construct the city in-game. I liked CXL in the beginning but city gaming includes infrastructure from my point of view, so, also tram, bus, train, underground. CiM has it all.

Very Very True...but I wish CIM had bullet trains which connect from cities to cities like Transport Tycoon....

Also I wish there were more vehicle options... there are not many kinds of vehicles... so boring... also the capacity of vehicles are some what from 2x to 6x smaller than the actual amount.

Well, but I still love the game haha. MORE MAPS PLEASE!!

Well at the moment there are no bullet trains, that's true, but the vehicles can be modded very easily. There are several to download, but I even did it myself. I changed the capacity to make it more realistic and I even introduced new combinations of vehicles. The fanpages would tell you how to mod them and would offer mods to change capacity without doing it yourself. And there are constantly new ones coming up. Some from the publishers and some from modders. So, I am quite satisfied. Maps can be downloaded from two major fanpages - I am not sure if I am allowed to post them here, but they can be found easily via google.

One thing I'd want: easy rezoning. The current game doesn't allow for rezoning; you have to destroy the existing buildings before you rezone. I think that would allow for a much more realistic building process, as the older parts of town would become the denser parts, not vice versa.

Please let there be mixed-use development this time around!

Time for improvements in the "traffic department"! No option to make proper interchanges, on/off ramps etc: No buy.

Well, I am very pleased that this franchise is continuing. From when I was a kid until now, I loved Simcity, I remember playing it on my PlayStation years ago. Its very unfortunate EA isn't pursuing it as aggressively as they should. To put this in perspective, my wife is going to give birth to our first baby next week. When she is old enough, I can show her how to play Cities XL. When she asks what it is, I can say "its like Simcity, but not as good."
