Affordable? A 1992 Nissan 240sx hatchback, they are awesome drift cars and you can make them look really good for really little. Just search one of Google and you'll know what I'm talking about.

If by affordable you mean affordable on an average income (less that £40,000?) I would say that my dream car would be an Alfa Romeo Giulietta, they're only available in Europe I believe (which is fine for me as I am unlucky enough to live in the UK!) but if I lived in the USA where I'd like to live I would really like a Ford Edge Sport or a brand new Dodge Durango. (If petrol prices keep going up though I would LOVE a Nissan Leaf!)

WRX Wagon. I especially like the first design of the US-bound models with the bug-eyed headlights. Before the auto market crashed and they ran that stupid cash-for-clunkers program that destroyed the new cars market you could find a good, unabused one for about $6000. I've owned a 93 Impreza wagon and an 02 Outback and will never willingly purchase anything other than a Subaru for myself to drive (unless I won the lottery in which case I'd need a Jaguar, an S2000, a Mustang GT, a Grand Cherokee, and a Corvette at the very least).

Well, I bought my dream car in 1971. It was a dark brown 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Brougham with light tan interior, a/c, a good radio with cassette player, and all the other goodies that you could get. At that time GM was prototyping a lot of upcoming Cadillac features on the Oldsmobile line, so it was a pretty nifty car. Nothing fancy, just comfortable.

I drove it for a few years, then sold it when I needed to be without a car.

When I got married in 1988, I was driving another Olds Cutlass, banker's grey with about the same appointments, but a 1986 model that I had leased then purchased.

My last car was a 1999 Honda Odyssey, dark metallic green with lots of space for myself, two kids, my wife, two dogs, yachting paraphernalia, and even groceries. Marriage changes your car, quite often.

As far as I know, my daughter is still driving this car, but she took it to live on the rock, and I can't really say.

Affordable? Well seeing as I've only got £201 I suppose it will have to be a 1984 Daihatsu Charade

.

Simple reason being that there are very cheap, versatile and reliable, unless you hit something going more than 10 mile an hour

Perhaps a graduation from shanks mare to the real thing would be good. What does it cost to board and care for a horse? Sexier than any car for some girls.

Wait, I forgot to mention a 3rd car in my other post:

If I had at least 25 grand to burn,

1985 Delorean DMC-12 (a BTTF replica would be nice, but I prefer a stock version):

Hm... I want a Lamborgh--

oh wait, this is affordable cars. Never mind.

Something more in my price range (if I had a bit more money) would be either a:

Volkswagen Golf GTI

or

skoda-octavia-rs_460x0w.jpg

a Skoda Octavia RS...

Good cars, both of them... yes, the Skoda is based off a Golf chassis... but it's a good sight more unique than a Golf, and just as reliable :P

Either a 1980's GM Metric Chassis to go Street Stock Racing or a Hennessey Venom GT, love the Lotus Elise but replace the tiny little 1.8L 4 cylinder with a mammoth 6.2L LS Engine... you catch my drift... its not too expensive I don't think... under 100K atleast :P

DeLorean Cars are expensive, you would spend about $50k to get a good as new one or $10k for a junker and spend $40k to make it good as new.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11
