I recently got the game from a friend. It's just simcity 4 not the delux version. I don't have avenues or one way streets as well as a number of other things. Anyone know how to update my version to delux? OR just download mods for what I'm missing.

Unfortunately, you have to go out and buy the Rush Hour expansion pack to update your version to deluxe. No free way around it. As SC4 gets older, it's probably getting harder to find though.

I've seen a lot of copies of the Deluxe edition in my zone lately, for 10 Euros mostly. Quite cheap for a great game.

So all I can really suggest is - first copy you find, buy it.

Maybe there are digital versions, but that I don't know.

I WOULD recommend buying the Rush Hour expansion online, but it's priced at about $20...twice the amount of the Deluxe version, which packs the installation of vanilla SimCity and its expansion pack into one great installment.

You'll have to uninstall and reinstall, but imo it is very much worth it...hope this helps.

You can buy SC4 Deluxe online and in many stores. I know that Steam carries it.

You can find it at Walmart for $20. This will be SimCity Box which includes SimCity Deluxe(SimCity 4 + SimCity Rush Hour} and also SimCity Societies.

EDIT: For that matter you can also find it at Best Buy and Target for the same price. Many a times there is a bargain rack that has a copy of Deluxe on it, too. Haven't seen it in awhile but you may get lucky at your locale.

I recommend buying it online I prefer buying of of impulse.com over Steam but to each their own. Getting a deluxe instalation is going to be your best bet amd write the basic game disc off as a demo version.

Afterwards be sure to check out the thread here on how to get all the maxis files as this will get you the pathces and data released by EA that is no longer available.

Someone will always buy something for less than you do. That is the way it works. I'm sure there is something else that you bought that is cheaper than what someone else may have paid for.

I'm pretty sure I saw a rack of SimCity 4 Deluxes on the bargain bin at my local Target for 9.99 recently. Don't bother buying the SimCity Box unless you want Societies.

also used book stores sell unopened copies of games, often old ones. Simcity 4 Deluxe seems to be a common thing they have.
