I'm sorry to repeat what the BAT Masters have said in the posts above, but you NEED to show in-process pictures to let them help you. There's a number of issues (mainly texturing and nightlighting) in your buildings, but the ones able to help you can't do it. Believe me, this guys are really good and know a bunch about BATting, they can make you progress if you hear what they are telling you.

Not to mention that in-process pics will prove that you're really BATting this buildings and not taking them from somewhere and uploading them to the STEX, which is against the rules here in Simtropolis.

If you decide to take BATting seriously, I will be happy to help. I`m from Spain and I have no problem in translating into Spanish all the technical explanations that the experienced users can give to you. Just send me a Private Message if you feel you need it.

Yes, please do so. It would be very important to do rather than post the BAT then ask what to do next. But you are getting much better my friend. You have really improved both on modeling and texture in your recent BATS. You just aren't really right spot on yet. I am confident you will be like the BAT masters at this rate.

ok Simfox, I change the camera to encompass all of my model, but if I do it the model can only to see by south, if I click into west, north, and west, it do not move.

And if I merge the camera big, medium, it is what happend, there is a lot of light

    captura2f.jpg

Other idea? or, what can I do?

You can start by carefully reading what other have to say.

I said change Shadow generating light - you say you've changed Camera? You don't see disconnect here?

You can continue by thinking what you do instead of just doing something - anything really... Why on earth did you merge all the rigs together? What did you expect to achieve?

ok, simfox, the sjadow generating light, where can I find it?, in the Customize-View potr configuration....., or in the folder of cameras and lights? please told me how can I do.

I think I am going to devide the model in two parts, the base and the top to fix the  light rig error, because when I merge the light rig medium, huge or big, the model see with a lot of light like the last render, and when I click south, nort, west and east the building do not move, I only can see the souht in the renders.

To the blue tectures I had make this, I had make a box with an sky texture, and another box with blue boxes, and an opacity of the 85%. I had superimposed the two boxes, to see like an a reflection of the sky.

The render looks with an a very poor definition but it is only an idea.

    Please opinions.

Yes you should open rig files in

    C:\gmax\gamepacks\BAT\scenes\CamLightRigs

In them you'll fine a group object called Lighting Rig.

    fb583b614deb.gif

It is a regual grouped light set. To modify property of lights in it you should eitehr ungroup it of opne the group. Commands to do that could be found in, no surprise there, Group menu.

    dd0073c43d84.gif

Once ungrouped you sould go one by one through ALL the lihghs and see which are set generate shadows.

    eb28568fa70c.gif

But generally you should increase cachment area or "hotspot" of ALL lighs so that it will encompas your entire model.

    0cc8740ae682.gif

For this you can import into Rig file LODs from you scene and check if everyhting is working right.

    6ffe1b436693.gif

One way to do so may be simply checking "overshot" option. This simply ignores the size of the hotspot area making light virtually invinite. Not sure how would it work with shadows generation, though...

And this shadow generation is an important thing to consider, particularly for a very large models.

By defaul BAT Lighting rig use shadow maps method of shadow generation. This is faster than raytraced shadows (I guess that was at least one of hte reasons why back in 2002 it was selected, It also alows to fake "area´" shadow - namely softer edge, for free. Yet it has some marked drowbacks. First one would be greater memory requirements, and second finite resolution of such a shadow. If you increase the hotspot beyond this resolution (set in Shadow Map Parameters) the quality of shadow will degrade. This is the tricky point of simply checking "overshot" option for shadow generationg lights.

And speaking of textures... why would there be clowds/sky? You're looking at the building top down...

I do feel that your BATs needs more detail because your recent two towers BAT is lacking many details. Although it's a decent base, you gotta add more to it. As with your lighting rig, it looks pretty bad. Then again, we have SimFox for a reason. lol

I'm sorry if I'm being harsh, but I'm being honest.

Hello boys, really thanks Simfox, I had done what you told me. The shadows in the top of the building looks great, but I have a problem, I only can see the building at the south, I am going to investigate how can I fix that problem, or if someone has any idea please told me.

    Really thanks.

    Here is two pics:

Hi Kiju! I had this pb before, I explained how to change Rigs in Gmax in such way you will not have this render problem after:

It's all discribed at the end of page 2 of my Bat thread! Hope it helps!

Looks good though you need to tone down the color or adjust the lighting/glare settings so it would look perfect in Maxis nite.

Please tell me how you do that geometry, its so wicked!
