Thanks for the comments! The airport is pretty huge, it reminds me of Styal, Cheshire near me which is a small village surrounded by airport

Update: Evergreen Island

As Columbia expands space is getting tight. Evergreen Island only had a few small homes but it was decided to expand the city onto the island for the much needed space...

The new inner motorway was not very popular but it was needed as the rail line made a strong divided between the different sides of town. All the roads crossing it where very congested...

Update: Wellingborough

Wellingborough is a new town built to the north of the Richmond-Columbia conurbation. The population of which is now over 15million! The twin cities have grown a lot but with the suburbs growing further and further out from the centre, car usage was increasing as people had to drive further to work in Downtown...

A garden a city is a self containing town with homes and jobs, centred around parkland...but still very close to the urban area of the cities...

Wellingborough, Sunset Counties first garden city!

A garden city allows people to walk everywhere with lower car usage...

Its the main central station in Richmond and has many local and express routes which run throughout Sunset County.

Those are some really nice suburbs. One thing though. What mod do you use to get your road's sidewalks just like the street's sidewalks. Like how the streets have a grass median between the sidewalk and the road, what mod is that?

Its all natural growth! I only use the casino to give me a load of money to start with, but every city has very little eye candy lots, works fully and is making a profit!

Update: Island Subway Map!

Evergreen Island has some very bad congestion. Mainly running north-south. To help this the city built a subway line to combat the problem.

The original line is elevated from Harborough Park to Bramwell, after that all the rest of it is subway. The Crosstown Line was originally just an express line on the western side of the circle line, but was extended across the loop to cut journey time...

Your suburbs and downtown areas look very nice, and you rail system is impressive! I would suggest getting a catenary mod to put overhead wires over your rails.

Major airport expansion on Farnborough! The old airport only had 1 runway that was very badly congested! A second runway had to be built. Many residents didn't want any extra aircraft noise, the solution for this was to have the second runway offset into the sea...

Aircraft land on the original runway as its quieter, but take off over the sea to minimise noise pollution...

Update:

Ok, I've been away for a long time haha, been making other cities, but thought I would come back to this one. I've dome something that a lot of people here don't often do, but in real life its being done more and more...Motorway removal! The city of Greensborough has for a long time had more traffic bypassing it that actually going to it. Because of this its has a double ring orbital motorway around it and a local bypass through the centre! It was the local bypass in the centre that caused a lot of problems. It attracted a huge amount of traffic into the down town streets and split the city up a lot.

The motorway has been removed, traffic dropped and also a subway has been built which has taken a lot of cars away...
