@ 9988: It sure is, and growing! 9.gif

Update: Elmhurst and a new region shot! Look how huge Richmond is now! Sunset County is huge so there is still way over 70% not even been touched!

Elmhurst river crossing...a second bridge had to be built due to all the cars. There are also two subway lines that run under the river...

    Elmhurst6.jpg

A very busy rail junction had to be re built in the south. At the same time a big new station has been built to deal with the extra taffic. The original line runs under the junction in twin tunnels...

Riverside Boulevard is very busy and has been upgraded to 3+3 lanes to deal with traffic...

A Bit of a random update! A big city has a lot of sims. And sims love their TV! The TEN (Truswell Entertainment Network) is the main network in Richmond County...

They have started a new commercial free movie channel...

There are some really great pictures you've put up. It's interesting to look at all your transit networks (although it looks like if I lived in your city my sense of direction would be put to the test!2.gif)

    Keep up the great work!

@NMUSpidey: Thanks! The transit network has gotten pretty complicated! i guess its just due to the size of the city etc. Its over used in a lot of places!

    UPDATE!

In any city it help if you how to get somewhere...

Signs would help! Here is a sign on the junction of 34th Avenue and Kenton Avenue! Hope it makes sense!

@wwetom1: Thanks! I like doing signs! They easy and show the place names well!

@rtyb: You can search subway on the ST Exchange! I can't remember their names but they are on there! I love Bellerose but its old, and I built it before I had several plug-ins so is a bit lacking and dated etc. I guess I could redevelop areas tho...

    More coming soon 9.gif

    Update: Woodhaven

Taking a look back at the suburbs...

This is Woodhaven! Family homes, pretty gardens, green lawns and shopping malls!

I've shown the road names. I added them in Adobe Fireworks after as it is a lot clearer than the in game method...

absolutely awesome city! you seem to have dedicated a lot of time to your suburbs which makes me happy, I thought I was weird for doing that lol. Woodhaven reminds me alot of the immediate suburbs of Boston (Newton, Watertown, parts of Cambridge, etc). Very tranquil, but slightly urban all at once.

i love how you use the vancouver map, and then slyly incorporate the capital city as richmond, which is really a suburb of vancouver!

looks good and very nice work too!

@ hackinosa: Thanks! I like doing suburbs! Takes more time tho if I wanna make them look good with all the roads etc. I didn't get my inspiration from the older style US suburbs in the north east aswell!

@flatsim: I really love this map! It has a good mix of sea, river, plains, hills, lakes, islands and mountains!

Update: Ocean Heights, suburbs and downtown!

This is a shot of the region! The city is moving towards the coast very quickly! There has been a lot of very fast growth, but this has also caused problems with pollution.

Newport (Now called Newport Beach) was an industrial port town, but the high pollution and low living standards caused a large scale redevelopment program. The same happened in Shoreside City (Now called Sunset Beach). Nearly 10Sq miles of factories and slums have been demolished ready for redevelopment...

This region shot shows the huge blank space that has appeared on the coast line ready for (re)construction of the new area!

    SunsetCounty-3.jpg

Atlantic Heights: This really is a boom town. Located to the far north west of Richmond, the towers have gone up and the population boomed to 200,000+ in less than 20 years!

    Update: Riverside

The inner suburb that is ruled by cars! Ok, I admit it, this really is bad urban planning! I tried making a network of parkways in a very built up area. This has cut up the flow of traffic on the small streets and ends up grouping all the cars together into one large road, which ends up congested badly!

    The parkways

    Riverside3-1.jpg

The new inner expressway. This had to be built as the traffic levels on the smaller inner ciy roads was too high...

    Riverside1-1.jpg

The old part of town the Island Line is very crowded. This area is due to redevelopment due to high crime and more capacity is needed on the rail network. The line is due to be upgraded to 4 tracks!
