As for private topics, that function has been merged with private messages. They may be found here. Open any PM, you should see "My conversations" in the sidebar on the left, click there.

They may be gone. I think a note was passed around before the update that you should all save your private messages and signatures. If your really worried you could try contact dirk and see what he can do, but its just old messages, the new ones are going to be of the most interest to you now.

I've never used a chainsaw. Any time a tree falls I get out an old-fashioned saw to dispose of it. It's good exercise.

Now I am thinking of Trees, a small independent film parody of Jaws from... actually, ten years ago (wow). A guy I knew in high school had a bit part in the sequel, and his father was on the staff for both films (I forget exactly what, but I want to say music director.).
