I wish I could see Magglio Ordonez retire as a Tiger. He had such great moments with that team, and the intangibles he brought far outweighed his statistical contributions... Sadly, he probably ended his time in Detroit with that broken ankle...

I think he is done, at least as a Tiger, i have him down as forced retirement but a platoon role somewhere is possible, I never liked his strong support of Hugo Chavez.

I never liked his strong support for Chavez either, but I'm willing to overlook it for three reasons. First, I'll bet publicly supporting that guy gives his family in Venezuela better protection from being kidnapped and held for ransom (I imagine that it's easier for your life in your home country if you're not constantly speaking out against a guy with such a massive inferiority complex and what amounts to military control of your home country). Second, he's a Tiger and I'm a shameless homer. Third, his walk-off homer to win game 4 of the '06 ALCS with two outs is just an epic moment.

So yeah, not crazy about it, but totally willing to look the other way.
