Andreas Roth- Yep, since it's pricey for me at the momment. Thanks for the suggestion about those File Recovery Programs! I got Recuva and recovered some of my textures! Not all of them though, so it will be hard to replace the others but I was at least able to recover most of the default Maxis Textures which I always use/edit to use.

So I should be back in business soon and should be able to re-texture 250 Broadway.

I'd offer myself if my computer didn't die on me a couple of weeks ago. I'm in the process of buying a new one, so... till than nothing from me. As you could see I didn't got around to finish even what I started, let alone, do something new. I'm so sorry to hear about your situation B.

Well, if you really want your old textures back and don't mind possibly losing anything you've done (keep in mind that includes any work or activity- schoolwork, homework, browsing history, etc), Windows XP has a nice little failsafe for big problems. You're running XP, right? I think you have a seven year old Dell PC or something?

Anyways, System Restore can be done in a couple of ways. Here's one way posted on a Microsoft website. When I used it a couple months back, I had to mash the F8 button during startup for System Restore to activate. But either way should work.

Make sure you read thoroughly what to do and externally back up any recently worked on files. I'm no tech support genius, but I have a feeling there are consequences to System Restore.

I haven't done much, but I added some of the mullions on the West side, slightly altered all the mullions where they stick out less, and there is some slight texture changes since the problem I had earlier. Over all I guess it's coming out okay, ya'll think so too?

I think I need to start over on 250 Broadway, I got the back of it screwed up where its really inaccurate and I'm not too pleased with the modeling...or I could go ahead and start on something else. But I think I'm just going to start over on 250 Broadway. I can make it look better anyway...I hope.

I have a new computer to BAT with! It's a Windows Vista HP laptop. According to my dad, it has 4Gigs of RAM compared to my main computer that has 250MegaBytes.

So soon(if I can) I'm going to show some BATs if time permits and maybe on this computer it won't take 13 hours to render something the size of Wall Street Plaza.

Oh, and would anyone care to share anything I should know about BATing with a Vista? Or is it not that different from BATing on an XP? Sorry to ask that if that sounds...well...stupid. lol

If I were you, I'd dump Vista. The upgrade to Win7 is really easy and defiantly worth it.

As for the BAT, well as far as I can remember there's no difference in functionality between XP, Vista or 7... Just keep doing what you've been doing and you should be fine.

Oh you can just upgrade any computer to Windows 7 or am I just confusing the meaning? I would really like a even more up-to-date system honestly. But I'm glad to hear that there isn't really a difference with BAT though.

Well I started on the Random House Building in Midtown(it's near some of the buildings that PBGV103 made). So far I think I got it right proportionally but I would like an opinion-

To tall? Too short? To thin? To wide? Out of proportion? Or is it okay?

Looks good, I'd just take a look at some of the photos from emporis.  I think your the concrete wall toward the front of your BAT might be set back a litle too far.

If you're unsure about any other dimesions, try using google earth's measuring tool.  It works great.  Good luck with all of your school work, I know your pain.  hahaha  I haven't been able to open max for weeks now.
