g'day all simtropians. on behalf of all members here, i would like to call to your attention a facebook group (yes, i know) that is dedicated to ideas and planning for the next city building simulator. i realize we will need experts from this site to help us, so feel free to post any ideas you have about this new game on the page.

There is already a new SImCity 5 under development, its called CityMania and its project pages can be found at SC4 Devotion

EA already released Simcity 5. You know, Simcity Socieites? Don't hold your breath for anything better, I'd say.

I think that SimCity Societies is so different from the traditional line of SimCity titles in that it is more of a Lincity-ng SimCity hybrid.

Sorry, let me clarify. I meant that SimCity Societies is too different from other SimCity titles to be called SimCity 5

i think that trying to "build" the next city building simulator is a horrendous idea because you know what? It's not gonna happen. You're all really excited now, but when it comes to making it, it's all gonna fail, don't mean to be a downer, but why get peoples' hopes up, when it's most likely not going to happen.

There is currently a project called CityMania going at sc4devotion.com where some of the community members are developing a city builder game, the progress is quite slow however it is the furthest any community project has got so far. Rather than have multiple projects, you should read the ideas there and contribute your own that aren't already there. however they need more developers I think, as the development seems to have slowed a bit recently.
