I'd like to start off my City Journal by saying " I know there are similar Cj's already "

but i thought to myself I shouldn't make a city if no one was going to see it.

I started it about a year ago but was discouraged from the ammount of New York Cj's there were already on Simtropolis, so I didn't share it with everyone else.

Lucky7 is my inspiration to make my city in the first place, I'd also like to thank the NYBT for all their bating on New York, and every other NYC Bat'er.

I daily go to Manhatten since I live in Queens. I can see New York the way google maps can't

So with out further ado, I will show you my current progress.

This is my street layout so far. Most of it is just about right

That is one large area to develop. Good luck with it's construction!

And remember, when posting your images, make sure they're 800x600 pixels or smaller so Mods won't breathe down your neck.

i live in new york too but farther from the city, i only go about once a month. that looks exactly like the street layout on google maps

Are the vehicles photoshopped or something. They appear a little out of place and unusual for the city. Is that up in Harlem, in my opinion it looks a lot like Harlem. I want to go there. Get away from this tiny town! (Hence the Username)

Wakita. Harlem is the last place you want to be in New York. Besides it's " big clean up " it's still really dangerous.

i don't see any reason to photo shop the picture, a lot of those cars are on the stex. like the buses and taxis, i guess it's just bad quality :3

So much for no update

I started laying out the streets for what will be in the future, my neighborhood in Queens. Ridgewood.

Ridgewood is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens, that borders the neighborhoods of Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale, as well as the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick.

The M train runs through the heart of Ridgewood.

The area within the white frame is the area I'm currently constructing ingame.

Very good start for your CJ! Oh my, I can remember when I did all the street layout for Manhattan. Even though it appears fairly simple for the viewers, it's a lot of hard work and calculations.

Don't worry about the similarities, these are uninavitable when doing NYC

I saw your PMs just 5 minutes ago, and I have noticed that you have solved the link-in-the-signature-issue. Good job on this.

As for the buildings I used for the TransManhattan Expwy, these are the Plattenbauten (SFTB, Andreas) which you can find over at sc4devotion. They require some works in the LE afterwards, though.

Oh, and I had to smile when I saw your new header pic, the black skyline with the red background: originally, I had wanted to do that, too

I once tried recreating my home town St. Cloud. But, I'm just not cut out for that sort of stuff.. (Instead of small downtown fit for 70-100k people, i built a monster full of skyscrapers   lol)

Cool update! Just a tip, though: this interchange at West 79th needs some make-over. I would recommend the RHW, plus some work in the LE concerning the boat bassin, but this is very tricky.
