What are you/ your parents driving?

My parents currently are driving a 2010 Ford Fusion. This car we got "Free of Charge" after our other car was totaled in a car accident. Our insurance paid for a new car. And we just got a new 2010 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer, and this includes a lot of different things, and so when we traded in our BMW 5-Series (It was a newer Wagon) it took 30,000 off the price of the truck, so we got a pretty good deal on it. ( We had to trade it in because it couldn't pull much of anything without having an issue with slipping). It was nice, but this will do better here in Oklahoma, better climate for this truck.

Well, I hope both of my parents are driving harps.  They've been gone for quite a while.

I used to have a Honda Odyssey, but when my wife passed away, I stopped driving.  I am blind in the right eye, and that makes backing up almost impossible, mirrors or no mirrors.  When my left eye began having cornea problems, I gave the car to my daughter, and as far as I know she is still driving the 1999 van in Newfoundland.

@ A Nonny Moose, sorry to hear about your wife and parents, I can understand your grieving. At least that car from 1999 still runs, but in Newfoundland, doesn't get cold up that way? If it does, hope that it doesn't die out in that cold weather.

Mom loves her cars. 4.gif Currently she's driving a 2009 Audi A4 3.2 Quattro. Lucky she bought it then too, because they discontinued the 3.2 after only one year and she didn't particularly care for the way the 2.0T shifted. Previously, she had a 2002 Infiniti G35 coupe.

Dad doesn't care, so he gets the utilitarian car of the two of them: A 2003 Subaru Outback H6 3.0 L.L. Bean Edition. (Mouthful, eh?) Previously, he had a Subaru Forester S+ which he liked very much.

As for me, 1998 Acura 2.5TL. I'm thinking I need to get something newer, but I can't find a car that sits low to the ground and has a nice, low beltline in my price range. 15.gif So I've been keeping it...

Funny you should bring this up now. My 2009 Ford Focus was purchased exactly one year ago today... as the phone call I got this morning from the dealer to "check how things are going" kindly reminded me (crazy customer service policies...).

Neither of my parents actually own a car, but they currently have a 2008 Nissan Sentra and a 2010 Nissan Murano on lease. Apparently Nissan makes it such that if you're coming off a lease with them, you're not going to find a cheaper lease with any other company. Which means that if price is your key object, you're kinda trapped into company loyalty. So my father is now on his fourth Sentra, and my mother on her second Murano after three Quests. Yeah...

Eddie Bauer is the founder of what is now Eddie Bauer Holdings, owners of the Eddie Bauer brand outfitter stores.  (If he did indeed play hockey, no one in the US, nor is own company, considers it important.)

Ford's purpose of making an Eddie Bauer edition vehicle isn't to suggest that the vehicle is good for hockey moms, soccer moms, or any other type of mom.  The idea is that it's easier to sell a more luxurious, higher cost SUV or truck if there is a brand name attached to it.  Hence why Ford has licensed the Eddie Bauer name for luxury packages on its SUV's, and it's trucks come with the Lariat, Harley-Davidson, King Ranch, and Texas Edition luxury packages.

My mom has been driving a 1997 Acura 2.2 CL since she bought it new. It has under 70,000 miles and is in impeccable condition, aside from the fact that somebody hit her rear bumper last week while it was parked. My dad drives a 2005 Chevy Equinox.

As for me, a 2002 Honda Civic EX. Her name is Hannah. 4.gif

Dad gets a company car which is a 2010 Subaru Outback, Mum drives a 2007 Holden Barina, which was cheap to buy, but the build quality and handling of the car is terrible, but thats what we had to live with!!

Oldest brother does not own a car anymore, as he is moving all over the country and then to Papua New Guinea for work, but he used to own a awsome Nissan Silvia s15 (1998 i think) That had a whole lot of power and was incredible to drive, on of the best cars I have driven to date.

Then the middle brother still owns a Seat Cordoba but want's to sell it as he has just bought a 1970 Nissan/Datsun 240Z, needs a bit of work to the rust patches that it has, but for the rest has a good motor (rb20T) and looks like a wonderful classic car!!

I drive a 1996 Hyundai sonata sedan, picked it up in good conditions and for a good price.

    That is all.

I still have my 1996 Buick, which belonged to my grandmother, so it indeed is a "grandma car". It looks a little like the car in the movie Fargo, except it is not an olds and it is not brown either.

But its transported me many places and back so I can't complain and I'll have it for some time to come since it wouldn't make sense to get any other vehicle until it truly wears out, i.e. not worth the money to fix.

My mom used to have some kind of old Mercedes-Benz of which I forgot what it was, but she since sold it and now just drives her other car, a Toyota Sienna(I believe its a 2000-02ish model, cant quite remember the exact year). We're looking for a new van now though.

My dad used to drive a Toyota Camry that he'd had from 1982-2005, but it broke down and now he has a Honda Accord.

The first Toyota Camry was released for the 1983 model year.  But, I reckon it's quite conceivable that he bought one of the first ones if they were introduced in late 1982.

That's awesome!  I love Peugeot and I wish they'd come back to North America.  Last ones we had here were the 405 and 505 in...  er, the late 80's or early 90's.  Gorgeous cars.

Alpha Romeo is another one I'd like to see back here.  I loved the 164LS they sold in North America in the early 90's.

    Hey Guys! Update!

Well after a few months, I finally saved up enough money to buy my Grandpa's 1986 Ford Taurus Wagon. He's selling it to me for $900. I'm just showing a pic from the internet. You people don't need to see it for now. Until I make a few changes...

    Enjoy!

Not too many Fords out there ehh? My family is an All-Ford Family, except for my Brother. He drives a Chevrolet. A Chevy Malibu as a matter of fact. Very uncomfortable seats though.

My parents just came home with a new Cadillac. Not sure specifically what kind it is, but the song Sick Black Cadillac pops into my head now. So now I get my moms old 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my dad keeps his 2001~ Volvo something or other...which I think is the next to go.

my father has a 1967 Chevrolet Impala. unrestored.  He got it when I was 13 and it was our family car until my mother passed away in the mid 70s. We lived in inner city Philadelphia, in an area easily accessable by good public transit, so we  barley ever drove it, wich explains why its still running after all these years. I took it for an oil change for him recently, and It had 38,000 miles on the clock. I still cant believe that.

My dad is 89 and doesnt drive much, so that cars going to be on the road for quite some time!
