This is a really well presented journal. Original and unique, with a great layout and storytelling style. The airport looks really nice as well.

Sirgeoj2 - your way of presentation is fantastic. Original and intersting! Great! I love the highland avenue and the bridge over a gorge - what set are you using to stone the slopes!?

    Keep up the great work!

    UPDATE 5

    SirGeoJ's Travel Journal
    July 26 (cont.)

I got out of my car in the view point parking lot and headed over to the walkway and gazed out at the amazing view of the landscape filled with trees and buildings.  I couldn't help but stand there, looking out across the river, wondering what all this must have looked like before any of this development began.  Yet at the same time I marveled at the city and it's buildings and how beautiful they looked nestled among the trees.  I sat there at that view point just thinking, for at least an hour and the longer I sat there, the more peaceful and clear my mind became.  I think it is true what they say about the gods of Gaden.  I found an article in the Geopedia about the city of Gaden and it has a breif account of this myth of the natives.  I will dig deeper and try and find more about this interesting legend.

The page from the Geopedia on Gaden
    geopedia%20civic%20gaden%20copy.jpg

I took alot of pictures of the surrounding area and finally decided to head back to my hotel.  Now that I think of it....it is kind of strange how I ended up here, because of a freak storm.  Mabey there is some reason I should be here.  My travel plans have been turned completley upside down.  I don't really know what I am going to do next.  Perhaps that is a good thing.  I still think I am going to go to the wine tasteing tomorrow in Agural Valley, I don't know if I want to come back here or head on to the capital city like I originaly planned.  I headed back out of the Highland area and this time took Interstate 384 East and then took the 84 North.  I stopped at Jack in the Box and got a quick bite to eat and then headed back to the 84 North to the airport exit to get back to the hotel.  I think I will see a little more tomorrow before I head off to Agural Valley.

Here are some pages of information on the city districts of the areas I have been so far that also pertain to my pictures below to kind of get an orientation of where I am.

Well, it was a fullfiling day.  I got to see alot today, and it is really amazing how at peace I am even still.  Something really mysterious about that place.  I tryed looking for some information about that monument and the legend in the hotel lobby but didn't find anything.  Mabey I will ask someone tomorrow where I can go to find out more about the history of this place.  I picked up this golf flyer as I was looking through the different flyers in the hotel lobby.  It might be interesting to watch if I come back to Gaden, I do believe I will be staying in Melanosia longer than I planned.  Something draws me to this place, not just this city but this whole region.  Mabey I just need a good nights sleep.

Another quality update! LOL, it's funny......just as you are drawn to the mystical qualities of Gaden, I keep getting drawn back to the serenity of your CJ 9.gif

    A Jack-in-the-Box in Gaden? Hmm.....at least it wasn't McDonald's 3.gif

The golf course is MASSIVE! It would be quite an experience to actually get to play on it. Hope you can make it to the tournament. How are you with a 5-iron? 1.gif

You should download a slope mod to get rid of those stunt ramps on your roads...Have you tried driving a bus up those slopes?

If I may ask, where did you get those highway walls/cement slopes that outline your highway?  I've been looking for something that good for over a year!  Is it on the STEX or a custom lot?  44.gif

    Message to my readers:
bienefeldt: Thanks!  Actually for some reason on the trasportation map it shows more than one airport in Contella but really it is only one.  It might be because I was using the airport pack.  And the city of Gaden is large enough to demand a smaller municipal airport.  As for the ticket I decided to change my travel plans and see more of Gaden and the surrounding areas.  1.gif

sloppet: I'm glad to see you again, 1.gif Thankyou for your comment 19.gif

simster6:  Thanks! I'm glad to see you will be sticking around.  44.gif

GMT:  Thankyou, I really appreciate that!  That picture from the car was actually 2 pictures photoshoped into one...I should have just took a picture of myself driving down a freewayat sunset, but I made it harder on myself and took a pic from inside my car parked at home and then grabbed a pic of a highway and put them together and THEN on top of that the highway pic was not during sunset so I had to make that effect as well! lol.

Alabaster: Thankyou very much!  I'm glad to see you again. 1.gif  Jack in the Box is my favorite fast food place so I just had to drop it in there..lol....and I'm not too good with a 5 iron, let alone any iron lol.

Padraig_2:  Thankyou for your suggestion, a few of those slopes are a bit steep, like San Fran.

moalkind: Thankyou for stopping by and for your comment!

jacqulina: Glad to have you in again 1.gif Thankyou for your support and comments.

Allybabba:  Thankyou for coming in and for your comments!

utora:  I'm glad to see you again.  Thankyou very much for your nice comments and yay I get bunnies!! 9.gif

kmoh4346: Thankyou! That is a very nice compliment.

    GLENNI: Thankyou much!

MissTonya:  Thankyou for stopping by and for your comment!

RogueNine:  I got it off the Stex, it is the sunken Highway eyecandy set by 3ddz, you can find it here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=BAT&Str=sunken higway eye candy set

Thankyou to all of you that continue to follow my CJ and also to all of you who have just joined me!  I hope to see you all again in the coming updates!  19.gif

    UPDATE 6

    SirGeoJ's Travel Journal
    July 27

I slept a little longer than I had planned, but seeing as how I don't really have a real travel schedule anymore.  I got ready and drove over to the nearby Ihop and had breakfast.  I needed to be in Agural Valley by 4pm when the wine tasteing begins.  I got online on my laptop and got driving directions from the Geomap site and it said it would take about thirty five minutes to get there so I figure I have about five hours to see a little more of Gaden.  I am going to head downtown this time and see what they got there to see.

Here are some pictures of my sightseeing tour around the downtown area of Gaden.
A shot of the Ihop where I ate breakfast.

Here is a shot of the Gaden Arena.
    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//gaden%20stadium.jpg align=baseline>
Here is a shot of the downtown area, quite a large plaza in the middle of all the tall buildings.  In the middle there is a fountain and a plaque which reads:  In the midst of our shadows you can hear the spirits calling for the wind and the sun to sing in the valley once again.

I ate lunch at the Olive Garden at the Mall and did a little more browsing on Gaden and found a few more pages of information on the Geopedia of the Health and Education system here.  Gaden seems to be a very nice place to live, a nice place to raise a family.

It was geting close to three so I decided it was time to head back to the hotel and check out and gather all my luggage.  I wasn't really sure what I was going to do or where I was going to go after the wine tasteing in Agural Valley.  I hope there is a decent enough place to stay there.  From what I have seen so far on the Geopedia, it is mostly all farmland and a small town.  I guess I will see when I get there.

A screenshot of the Geomap site that I used to get directions to the Agural Valley winetasteing.
    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Geomap%20gaden%20to%20agural%20directions.jpg align=baseline>

Well, that is all for update 6.  In update 7 I will continue with my trip to Agural Valley and the winetasteing there and what I ended up doing that night for a place to sleep!  Hope to see you all there!
