Vow, Nardo! Your farmland is looking good, very good! Very realistic. Streams and red leaves give it a nice touch. I am fascinated you named your city Ploce - how come? I am from Croatia I expected even more railways ( you now what I mean After seeing your CJ I decidet to download those walls you've got and the red trees. I also love the road bridging the railways - where did you get it? Is it from the NAM!? I didn't install the NAM because someone said it wouldn't work with 512mb - what do you think? Keep the snapshots coming!

Date: 8/5/2005 4:27:28 PM Author: Nardo69 Looks nice so nice. And there tons of probably developement. But could you please give us a nice region shot? quote> Well, this is my first city, and the region is not even nearly finished yet, so.... Date: 8/5/2005 4:27:28 PM Author: Nardo69 There is just one thing: HOW COULD YOU TEAR DOWN THE RAILWAYS???? I LOVE RAILWAYS, ESPECIALLY THE SMALL ONES!!! quote> I love your enthusiasm for the railway! But it just doesn't fit... I stil have 4 lines though , not that short either! I'll post some snapshots tomorrow morning. Date: 8/5/2005 4:27:28 PM Author: Nardo69 And about subways: if it should be european why not tramway - why not using the GLR??? quote> Believe me, if there were some real tramway my city would be full of them! Loaded! But it should be a real tramway, not the one going alongside the road, but in it. And the turns are just too space consuming.... Date: 8/5/2005 4:27:28 PM Author: Nardo69 My post may sound a bit negative but it isn't.- I just love railways and there are not very much good railway designs here ... so except for posting that you tear down railways: great work!!! Nardo quote> your post is great! thanks for the support, keep coming! Coy Bells has reached the 10 000 population mark - snapshots coming soon

Date: 8/5/2005 9:38:23 AM Author: mayormommy Looks very interesting - your street vendors will make a fortune selling maps to lost tourists! quote> Irregular street-grid looks more realistic to me, at least it's how it looks like here in europe. I appreciate your support mayormommy! Nice nick

Sirgeoj2 - your way of presentation is fantastic. Original and intersting! Great! I love the highland avenue and the bridge over a gorge - what set are you using to stone the slopes!? Keep up the great work!

Update : I've teared down most of the railway tracks and have left only the 4 major lines going from the region into the city. Transit system within the city will use buses and subways. I've started building first neigbourhoods, the city is very small, about 1800 residents at the moment. A few snapshots : I've re-designed the canal, looks much better now, zig-zaging through the downtown.... First neighbourhood starts developing: Question) what looks better : a) a one large hub of skyscrapers b) 2 or 3 smaller hubs within the downtown I need to plan the space for the hubs, plan b) sound better to me right now.....

I love the way you've incorporated the embankement set with the bridges. Highways are impressive too! Keep up the good work

I don't like the way I've put the railway so far. I am constantly re-shaping the grid The station you see is APTX terminal-station, dual hoch-bahn terminal. Respect. As for the railway model I am between 2 options now : 1) build the underpasses under the rail, or overpasses, to avoid any contact of rails with roads, and put rail at least one tile away form buildings 2) treat the rail as more like a street-car allowing roads to go cross rail and putting buildings adjacent to the rail... It's almost 2am, I ll think about it tommorow

On the above snapshot you can see the river/canal. There's also a small white dot on the screen. That 4 tile dot is the geometrical center of the map where the old downtown with pedestrian zones will be. Area around it will be very dense, and it will become less populated towards the end of the map. The city will remain within the boundaries of this map. I don't like region playing much but prefer to build isolated cities... Next step is to start building major transportation routes - highways and railway plus some major landmark spots (like amalienborg landmark which can already be seen on the above map). I ll use railway and buses for public transport. Various railway stations are so fabulous that I just could not ignore it. But railway will go up and down ( in the center). Respect to Ragutaro. I'm using his Bahn zu hochbahn and Bahn zu U-Bahn mods. Some pics of the railway stations and amalienborg area. The clocktower in front of the amalienborg is from the RCC traditional set of plazas Great looking modern library is done by sam_lawrence - looks great! Railway station is the work of JBAB and AmyLeeFreak! I love it!

This is my first post but I've been visiting Simtropolis for a long time now. This is a great site, and Sim City is a great game! The best! It's pretty much the only game I play. Before I begin with the CJ, I'd like to pay my respect to all the people who do such a great work developing mods, lots and buildings. I admire you. Those great workings take this game to a whole new level. I'm using all the major mods except for the transportation mod as I'm afraid it wouldn't work well on my 512mb machine. I have in total about 80mb of plugins. They are fantastic, respect to those who made it. I reinstalled the game recently so today I've started my first city : City of Coy Bells ( aka C.B. ) The intention is to build a city with european urbanistic style - meaning a large, dense downtown with only a few skyscrapers. City is located adjacent to a bay. In my imagination I've put it a bit north, so there won't be many or maybe even any beaches... The terrain is mostly flat land which allows large urban areas, except for the bay on the west, mountins on the northeast, some hills and a lake on the south. There is also a small river going from the mountins to the bay through the city center. This river will be built with Oppie's Canal Set. Great, I mean realy great plugin! Oppie - respect!
