Canadian Forces Base Otona, in the city of Otona in the Greater Warrington metropolitan area. It's a smallish military airport mainly serving CC-130 Hercules in a support and search-and-rescue role. Unsurprisingly, you can see the edge of Canadian Coast Guard Station Otona to the south. At one point, CFB Otona was a training base for Commonwealth aviators bound for the front during World War II, but as Otona grew into a bedroom community of Warrington in the postwar years, the city grew up to the edge of the base. They're in an uneasy relationship: Southern Otona especially is subject to draconian density and height limits to ensure the approach lanes remain clear for incoming military aircraft, putting something of a crimp on a city that wants to expand its urban boundary.

A Herc taxiing up for takeoff. The runway was expanded northeast over the years to make room for bigger aircraft like the Herc or the CC-177 Globemaster III, which will also fly out of here once I can find the darn prop in Lot Editor.

Let me introduce my NEO-INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

5fa3efb85e3e9_NeonInternationalAirport-001251604455121.png.a5237c9c28d0bd365b1bf667ab8e6c5f.png

The overview shows that my airport occupied the whole single map. This giant airport is inspired by Haneda airport, which is an international airport in Tokyo, Japan, built on the artificial island, with terminals centered, and multi-dimentional traffic network combined with bridges and tunnels.

It makes up of three passenger terminals, one cargo terminal and five runways. As Haneda airport, it’s on a big artificial island, which is in the south of my city(not finished). The highway and metro system connect the airport with the main land from three directions - the north to the CBD, the east to the old port and the west to the Hi-tech industrial port.

5fa3f17f24e7d_NeonInternationalAirport-001251604455247.png.d610c271c294bdbb82e64ea7265ceec3.png

The passenger Terminal 1 and 2 are located in the center part of the island. The sunken highway goes through the middle of the terminals, and leads to the cargo center in the east. Terminal 3 is in the south part of the island, which is the smallest one.

5fa3f37e676f6_NeonInternationalAirport-001251604455289.png.aa971d67db1dfd2bbd93999cbcf1f37a.png

The upper one is terminal 1, mainly used for the domestic flights, while the lower but bigger one is terminal 2,  which is used for both domestic and international flights. It can be seen clearly that the complex traffic system are designed in the central area. The sunken highway, which is from the west land, connects with the roads on the both sides, and the roads lead to the either terminal entrance. The metro transfers into GLR and ELR, and finally connects with two EL-railway stations. On the each side of the terminals, two huge eight-level garages are outside the buildings.

The highway passes under two taxiways and direct to the cargo terminal. Driving through the flyover to north, passengers can arrive in the city center, by a long undersea tunnel and an oversea bridge.

There are many warehouses besides the highway. The highway continues passing under the airport field to the east land, which is the old port of my city.

At the southern part of the island is the terminal 3. It's the smallest one, mainly for some short distance flights to domestic cities. The road to the west goes along the bank, and passes the end of runways, connecting with the highway behind some huge hangars. There is also a street as a shortcut leads to terminal 2.

Passengers need to leave from the highway by the exit ramp, and cross the long bridge to terminal 3.

5fa4049608b20_NeonInternationalAirport-001251604456391.png.8ba33500a8efef0bee62fb83f861ce6a.png

There is a small building beside T3, which is called VIP hall, for some rich people taking their private jets. The road leads to the cargo terminal or the highway to the city center.

The following graphs show the runways around the island. There are four  main runways - two east-west facing, one north-south facing and one diagonal.

5fa40387c42d7_NeonInternationalAirport-001251604455801.png.8edc5bc96705cc137828fa7dffeef282.png

This fifth runway is the most special one. As the real runway in Haneda airport, it is built on an additional artificial isle, connected by some taxiway bridges with the main island. This runway is mainly used for the cargo planes.

Let's concentrate on the facilities of this airport. In the core area, some shops and restaurants are outside the terminals.

Outside T2, fire station and police station are ready for the emergency. The shuttle bus terminal can send passengers to the downtown.

This two blocks are airport administration buildings outside T1. Relatives of officials can enter the airport by an underpass without security check.5fa415820c28b_NeonInternationalAirport-001251604456236.png.bab36a1985fad71cdeb73e31470fb436.png

New project time, still in progress. An overview of the gateway to the Antarctic: James Cook International Airport, the largest airport servicing the Commonwealth of Nactegal.

RA1XoWO.jpg

That is, a warmer-than-in-life Kerguelen Islands with a British rather than a French character. Not a huge airport, but then, the country's not huge, either.

Sec0D41.jpg

Flights servicing Cook International tend to come most often from nations in the southern hemisphere, aside from British Airways. South African flights are pretty well represented, largely because Nactegal's one of those rare places where you can both see penguins and sleep in a four-star hotel at night.

FedEx's air cargo terminal. Cook International is the main gateway for parcels coming to and from the Commonwealth. There's a DHL terminal a bit further up.
