i have a question about the fog?
 
1.why maxis  Disabled the fog in SimCity4 vanilla?
 
2.maxis only enabled  the fog in SimCity4 RushHour?
 
 
BTW Any ideas how to edit the Effects DIR. File ?

This the best i can get the fog to look based off the work by Darkmatter, Redlotus and myself, so it works the same as it always did except for the lilttle modifcations i made. I should have it done tonight.

BTW i am testing Yayo01 fog mod and i just want to say that he fixed DarkMatter's Bug.

There was another major problem, a bug i guess, with the fog mod. When I used the fog mod, it somehow disabled the god mode tree tool. If the terrain is low, like close to sea level, I couldn't make trees grow no matter what radius I used. When I removed the fog mod, the god mode tree tool worked again.

this looks to me like nothing special.. the only one that looks decent is the industrial one and it looks like someone edited the exemplars for the cloud height to be at ground level instead of in the sky... hopefully someone will come out with a REAL fog mod instead of a modified cloud one.

First of all Screwball i tried that because i want to convert the clouds into fog but  it doesn't work  and second the pic i posted is the real fog.29.gif

I think everyone means the god mode tree bug, the trees wouldn't plop for some reason with the mod, but I fixed that, only thing that's holding me up is, that i cant get it to burn off for some reason now.

Ok this mod is up in the mods section for downloading, seems the property for fog burning off according to time of day doesnt work, other than that the mod works the way it should, the god mode tree bug is fixed also. Thnx to Darkmatter and Redlotus for the previous version that i modded further, Enjoy!

well, this ground fog seems to be working.... i tweaked a few settings around in the exemplar and have gotten it to show up during all times of day and at any height.... i dont know if the original modd allowed fog where there was no water, but my tweaked version does....
 
check it out, it's in the center... notice how it differs from the clouds in the pic... this is definitely fog

thanks gizmo, darkmatter and redlotus! now if only someone could help me figure out how to make the fog cover a broader radius... mine only covers 2 or 3 city blocks 8.gif
