Any info about future updates?

 Hi everybody!

The forums are so quiet these days so I'm starting to think that nobody is interested in the game anymore. I know the next update should include the china pack buildings and some new roads but when will be released, does anybody knows something?

Unless the Christmas decorations removal patch, there is nothing new happening to this game. I hope that the developers were on holiday (these frenchmen) and they didn't forget us all of the players waiting for trains, metro and other things we want in the game

I'm very concerned about this as well, since I've now bought it. I scoffed at "They're going bust" comments but it's a bit worrying that there's been not so much as an update from even Matthew_MC on here.

I'm still very interested to hear about what they are going to do with PO pricing. I got called a troll for suggesting that MC had horrible PR for killing the 2 and 3 month subscription prices without a single word of what they're going to do to replace it. I'm still surprised by the silence on the issue.

Perhaps I'm too cynical, but between all the launch issues, lack of advertised features, canceling of long-term subscription options, and what some estimate to be low sales I just don't see this company staying around too long. I wish them luck, but I just don't see success.

Well, I'm quite sure that they were on vacation. I live in Brasil, and here everything is DEAD right now - the holiday season. Even the companies that do work are going so slow that it's simply unbelievable. Now, I know that France is not Brasil, but they still like their vacations. Besides, I don't think it makes any sense for them to abandon the game right now, when it's finally taking off a bit. The new planets are filling with cities, which means that even if nobody renewed their PO subscription, and they didn't delete any old cities, there are still many new players that bought the game....

As for the update, I heard that they're preparing a 'road pack'. It's unconfirmed though, and there's no additional info. Boy, I'm soooo hoping for a better overpass solution and more highway connection options...

I truly hope that these days they will put some news on the site telling us what is going on with the game and PO and so on. The game has such a big potential and they need to continue developing it.

@Soltangris: the game really needs more overpasses (especially for expressways) and smaller highway passes. The highway bridge bug should be fixed too.

I don't even think that they will abandon the game. Maybe the holidays are the real reason. Here in Bulgaria the holidays are gone two weeks ago and everybody is working as normal.

The vacation\holiday speculation does make some sense. I would imagine that the folks at MC have been putting in serious time for months now. We do that for our developers here (the company I work for has an in-house software department). After the dev team busts butt for a couple months they give them time off to re-charge.

As far as vacations are concerned I think the U.S. is a tad more strict when it comes to Time Off. Everything is not really "hustle or die" in other countries. Although I would have expected a nod or a taste of whats to come from MC in this past week.

On the holiday thing, pretty much the whole of Europe goes back to work on the 5th of January so they should have been back for a few weeks by now.

I really hope for all your guys sake that bought the game that they aren't in financial trouble. They certainly shouldn't be after all these monthly subscriptions

First content pack:

Medieval pack: 10 residences, a hotel, a shop, a restaurant, a plaza (decoration zone), a church and a 2-lane street.

The map of Rio de Janeiro featuring the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer.

3 Megastructures: the 30 St Mary Axe from London, the Tokyo Imperial Palace and Alcatraz.

A new farm model.

Second content pack:

Chinatown pack 10 residences, a hotel, a shop, a restaurant, a plaza (decoration zone), a temple and a gate.

A realistic map of Manhattan featuring the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and the road network.

Blueprints: three new stadiums (football, baseball and American football).

New maps.

An animated ferris wheel.

Third content pack:

A comprehensive bus system: create your own bus lines and place each bus stop

A selection of new roads inspired by roads from US, Britain and other European countries

A selection of different service vehicles from different countries (police , ambulances, fire brigade)

Actually the second pack released is those with the buses (but no new roads unfortunately). They'we changed their plans and released the buses before China town pack. Maybe it is the next one. who knows..

I would expect the China-Town-Pack for March. Before they are going to publish their new plans concerning the subscription-system on monday or tuesday (early next week).

Between end of january and mid february they should allow us to modifiy the game openly. Therefore they need to change their strategy and permissions in the EULA etc...that tkaes much time.

I also think that chinatown pack is not for immediate-future, but I don't think that we'll have no content pack this month...

I think they'll, as andre said, reveal their new plans for PO, release the Ski GEM, and probably release a "light" content pack, with a map, 1-2 blueprints, a few quickly-done buildings...

This is just my 2 cents of speculation, based on the following...

1) There is no trace yet of the chinatown pack datas into the game datas (there was "prototypes" of medieval pack before it was released)

2) Ski GEM is expected "soon", and datas for it are already partially included in the game (as for Gem Beach, but this one is not planned for soon). Plus, it's a money-bringer for them, so they'll probably put an high-priority on it.

3) 1 monthly content pack is a "rented feature" listed in "benefits of subscribing" written in plain letters in the game manual and the website, not releasing one would give PO subscribers the right to ask refund and even attack MC in justice for "lying-publicity" (don't know the english term for "publicit

I highly doubt that. If there is any pattern MC has established, it's being "a day late and a dollar short"

Likely, any announcement by MC will just leave more questions than answers.
