  1. I posted this as a response to someones question in another thread. It seemed relevant enough to put in this thread. This is more of a wishful thinking list than a request. I know you modders work hard at what you do. Keep up the great work. Maybe maxis will take notice. If you were somehow able to divide sections of cities into districts and assign a certain amount of vehicles per service (police & Firetrucks and maybe garbage/recycling trucks) that would work or at least to me it would. Unfortunately It most like goes against the way the glass box technology works and would probably destroy the game. That and I have no idea if it is something that is even feasible. The one thing kinda makes districts almost pointless though is the size of the map. I think buses and school buses would benefit from actual bus lines like we saw in cities XL instead of placing bus stops through the whole city. Of course strategic bus stop placement is necessary regardless of what system is used. garbage/recycling trucks would benefit from this as they follow predetermined routes as well ( I used to work on a garbage truck). Obviously there would not be "truck stops" but a determined path to follow made with waypoints.

  3. I'm on fire, get me a beer while you're up.

Same problem here. Looks something like this: Fire men appear to have "left" the city.
  4. SimCity sold 1.6 million copies according to EA

1.6 million copies did not go to consumers. Although 50% they say went to digitial download, most of it is still on store shelves and in deep cavernous warehouses. Retailers and distributers are urged to buy a certain amount of games in order for game publishers to reach thier quota. Trivia: When games go down in price, Major retailers and distributors get refunded the difference so they don't lose money.
  5. The Workers of SimCity

The problem I have is that the system does not work the way it is explained.
  6. Show Us Your Skylines

Blast off at night From the Balcony Bad driving all around Smaller than it looks Armageddon
  7. water.... not a drop to drink

In case someone does not know how it is supposed to be done. I still have yet to see the rain replenish anything to date.
  8. This. --------- I would like to see a whole region connected instead of of just 4 cities in any given spot. Looking at the way highways and train tracks are built in the game makes me cry a little. Region play seems to be an idea from Cities XL. Their version of region play also failed among other things. A subway system would be nice but before that the map needs to be way bigger. Beaches should already be in here since it would be just another park. The education system does not work properly either so there really is not a place for private schools. Terra-forming should always be an option. The fact that the ground goes back to its original shape when you bulldoze something is weird and wrong.
  9. Stuck vehicle on region highway

That is one messed up bug. Its a horrible stacking effect which in your case seems to be virtually un-fixable. I have only seen in on incoming traffic but not outgoing. I know you said you tried deleting and replacing the road in the other city but have you taken the time and watched the traffic at that particular location while in that city? Take some time and just watch it at Llama speed, you may see where the problem is happening. From the city you are in now its only showing the main road. This is just a theory and I'm just talking (typing) out loud.
  10. More commuters than jobs

I also noticed that the more commercial and industry I destroy the more people that begin to commute in.
  11. Stuck vehicle on region highway

Could you perhaps show A pic? I had similar problems when I first started playing Simcity. Also Are you playing with other people or just by yourself? It could have something to do with an intersection being too close to the highway exit. Traffic gets stuck then utility vehicles --> more traffic gets stuck --> previous utility vehicles get stuck behind THAT traffic (?) --> repeat. Its a bug but it can be remedied methinks.
  12. Is the game too easy?

I find the game incredibly easy to the point that its now boring. Initially what made the game somewhat difficult was the amount of bugs. Finding ways around all of them has shown many of the games other flaws IMO. The small map size does not make things harder or easier. Just annoying. Specializing seems nice at first but then later it just becomes pointless. Making money and balancing a budget is crucial to Simcity but it should not be the focal point of the game. Creativity should be. Playing with other people online may seem fun and probably is if you have other friends to play with you but you eventually run into the same wall over and over again. After you fill up your map and build a great works what next? You can create your own challenges if you want but the limiting factor in the end is size and a lack of it. As for puzzles being solved - I don't see them therefore they do not exist (just my opinion!).
  13. Anyone else have this problem with there being almost 3 times as many commuters as there are jobs?
  14. This would be good if the game did what it was supposed to I believe. I tried it and it didn't add up at least to me (please note that I am horrible at basic math.) possibly from poor city planning. From what it shows me is that your Residential really needs to consist mostly of Low wealth for industrial and commercial to actually flourish. You can have quite a bit of people in your city that are unemployed and not worry about them going homeless. also - Although it shows that commuters fill the jobs they really don't(?). buildings still go out of business for lack of workers.
