Dont you love loosing your hard working city because of gamedesign

Slowly but surely building my organic city, crafting plazas, roads, zones how i like them aesthetically.

I have as few as 2 contracts my city depends on, 15 food and 5 water from my neighbour city, each for 100 credits. Practically free.

Bought another month of planet offer, then what happens?

After building a new industrial center and needing some more executives, i eraze two blocks (no more than 15 houses in total) of Medium density, and build high density instead. Before i even click to place those high density, i soar from 20k income to -98k. .

My city is now dead, no hope of recovery. Still -80k income. And even though i friggin own and built the companion city which supplied the food and water, this game wont allow you to simply give away resources, oh no. So im screwed while im in negative income, which again is screwing me.

What could i possibly do? Delete the megastructures in progress + delete every leasure + delete all police stations and schools?

Why am i paying for this? I just spent half a month building this city and my companion cities, and its all for nothing, and i  pay per month as well.

Ridiculous.

First of all, erasing 15 medium density houses could in no way drop me down 120.000 credits of income.

Secondly, even after using ALL my funds to build executive zones like nuts (which are ALL employed), im still -80k, so obviously it wasnt an issue with some industries loosing their executives (in 20 seconds, it shouldnt have an effect anyway).

Good thing the star trek online beta is coming next week, because this piece of unfair sure aint getting my money anymore.

And the beautiful part, no official forum to about in.

Watch your language.

So because you made a poor game decision, this is the game designers fault?  I don't really seem to follow this logic.

Wow...someone needs to uh...calm down. Just a little reminder(this might make you mad, but it's the truth)- It's just a game ya know...you can always try again.

well that certainly a point of view....... I do feel you pain, the game takes some time to get used to, when I first stated, I played it like I did SC4 and yes I had the same problems you had and probably did more swearing then you. But simcity4fan12 has a point you do realize that you get 5 cities and you can delete them when ever you like and start again. maybe you will learn from your mistakes and this problem wont happen again.

Also there are some good manuals hear to help you learn how to play the game

Cities XL Manual

Cities XL Hints & Tips

Cities XL F.A.Q

Instated of going of on a tandem,  next time why don’t you just ask some question hear, there are plenty of people the know this game back to front, and the would be quite willing to help you.

I think when you invest so much time into the game it must be very annoying. However it was your decision to do what you did in the way you did it. Personally I build up a reserve of unemployed , approx 5-10% when I am changing my city, I can then simply absorb them into employment when I finish what I am doing.

Personally I re-frame from posting on this site a lot because of the negativity. We have a great game here, and I hope it will become bigger and better as time goes on.

Actually, yes it will.  Go to the website, select your now defunct city, search for tokens in your other city.  There you can give all the tokens you need (including the other city's spare cash tokens) from the companion city to your defunct city.  Once you get that one back up and running, you can cancel the deal and go back to more balanced trade.  Just be sure not to go into your companion city while you're doing this, as you don't want the same thing to happen over there.

SimCity had some similar (but I believe less frequently occuring) issues when selling resources to neighboring cities. Sometimes budget and resource issues would (fairly and) unfairly cancel them out sending your city either into financial oblivion or into the dark ages because of a lack of garbage collection, electricity, or water.

I had the same problem with this game and actually with all games, that is why I use cheats...Because without I can't win. Still, it's all about strategic playing, not to just randomly do things.

LOL.  I don't like cheating.  It takes the challenge out thus less reward when you finally get things the way you want.

Well, I don't like cheating per se, either, but I also totally believe in letting people play a game the way they want to.  For example, if your only goal is to make the most aesthetically pleasing city possible, and you don't care for balancing the financials (or you would be creating a city that's impossilbe to balance the budget w/o cheating), then I don't consider it cheating.  People should be able to set up their own objectives and the rules should be flexible depending on those objectives.
