Air force Base?

I read around the forums and I found some people commentnig on Area 51 and Airforce Base? Can someone explain in detail what is the air force base?

As far as I know, there is no "official" air force base besides Area 51. However, you may have seen people commenting on an air force base made by use of stuff downloaded off the STEX, etc.

The Air Force base is in the official maxis addon called "transportation download" (along with a fair number 20 or so) under the "Cool Stuff" tab

Correct and as for what it is... it is a lot the size of a medium sized airport and provides some jobs, a little demand for R & C and depending on the settings you have on, you can see air shows ever so often.

i think it's the area 5.1 i did a cheat called you don't deserve it ,press ctrl and x at the same time then a tab should apper then you tap you don't deserve it.sorry for spelling mistakes.

Area 51 is a toxic waste producing site which is a kind of revenge of Dr. Vu.  Looks pretty, but causes problems.  The Air Force Base is a reward that produces a few jobs and some other advantages, but takes up an unconscionable amount of space.  Think of it as a land bank, and an excuse to build a housing pod with commercial support around it.  If you have it, and need more development space, it can be bulldozed.

Note that the Air Force Base doesn't work with Area 5.1 for some reason; I think because EA was L-A-Z-Y and gave the two the same index so the game thinks they're the same building. Might even have one turn into the other.

I think that the area 51 base is ugly and would never add it to my city maybe the airforce base would be ok

There is a fix for this on the STEX its called the "Area 51 Air Force Base No Exclusion" by timotheus4

I need an air force base to replicate a region but that ea link appears broken. Are there any mirror sites to get that transportation.exe file?

For the TB, click here. However, if you want realism, I would suggest searching for RMIP content found on the STEX. Most of the RMIP stuff is aimed toward creating airports for airlines but there are some uploads that will work with RMIP like these naval jets or this set of Air Force jets.

Thank you usfighter I have got a few Maxis Airforce bases and my PC Crashed back in Nov 11 and Lost that File.
