High Speed Rail vs. Bullet Train
charlie3 replied to Retep Molinari's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Thanks for the response CaptCity. I have read many, many of your posts over the last day or two. The STEX has me wanting to play this game again and I've read dozen of thread pages on the BTM. Over the course of my reading, it appears "Simulator Z" was renamed NAM Unified Traffic Simulator which is available at NAM Traffic Subsystem I downloaded that last night, switched settings to increase mass transit use and my BTM is up and running like a champ. I live in Florida where out dirtbag governor just shot down plans to build high speed rail between Tampa and Orlando. I'm building my response. May just put PEG's middle finger salute up next to the main station in downtown Tampa. -
High Speed Rail vs. Bullet Train
charlie3 replied to Retep Molinari's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
I have enclosed a zip file containing all the versions of Simulator Z, modified for the BTM so that the network speed for the BTM is 400 kph, instead of the monorail speed of 250 kph. I would strongly recommend the use of this simulator, as opposed to an updated version of the old BTM simulator. As I mentioned in an earlier post, Simulator Z has specific enhancements for the monorail/BTM network that are not present in any other simulator. As these are complex and I have not communicated their implementation to the NAM team, it is unlikely in the extreme that any modified BTM simulator would have these enhancements. Therefore, it is rather clear that a modified BTM simulator would not perform as well as the attached modified Simulator Z. If you wish to use this traffic simulator, simply download the zip file and replace your current traffic simulator with the BTM version. If you are already using Simulator Z, the names will be identical except for the extra "BTM_" in the modified simulator. The main effects of this modified simulator are that you will get increased use of the bullet train. I would be interested in hearing additional details from those people who use this modified simulator, which can be found here. I have been playing vanilla SC4 on and off for a few years and am just now experimenting with the STEX. I would appreciate somebody giving this some clarification. I have downloaded BTM version 2, BTM texture 500, and the BTM station... want it to haul ass. The link quoted above to the simulator z mod specifically for BTM is no longer working. I went on the STEX to find it and am guessing that it's the RTMT V350 mod? Two years later, there is now a V360 mod that has made v350 obsolete. But the V360 has V350 as a dependency and V350 is no longer on the STEX. It's like a catch 22. I'm trying to build a bullet train from Tampa to St Petersburg, Florida... 20 miles of flat ground and water. -

Apologize in advance for what may appear to be a $%&^! question... been a vanilla player for too long. I need an air force base to replicate a region but that ea link appears broken. Are there any mirror sites to get that transportation.exe file?
