Here's my tram system that operates as a way to get people around within the main city in my region.  It only operates intracity, and it was built to ease intracity traffic on the city's subway network.  The rails go underground at some points to intersect with subway stations, but the majority of the network is above ground.  It has one line with three branches which all converge before the line's terminus.  The line was inspired by Boston's Green Line.  The terminus was inspired by the tram terminus at Amsterdam Centraal.

Tram coming from the financial district which merges with the branches coming from central station and the shopping district. They go underground (as seen at the top of the photo) to stop at a subway station. (the branch going to the central train station is can be seen merging with the branch from the financial district next to the tram; the branch from the shopping district is hidden between the light blue towers in the top right):

This is my new central transit hub for railway, bus, and tram. There's no development yet, unfortunately, as I've been developing a few farm fields at the outskirts of my town (I can't do this anymore when my city has more inhabitants), and I decided at the last minute to include a tram system in my city. That's the default Maxis Large Railway Station. You either need to fulfill all the requirements or use the "You don't deserve it" cheat to be able to build it.

Yeah, I think the only way to get it is to use the "you don't deserve it" cheat, since it's bugged so that there's no way to unlock it as a reward.

Time to bump this thread.

 

This setting may not look complicated, but it took me weeks to find a satisfying way of having both GLR and a road cross a diagonal river made with ploppable water. This bridge in particular took at least 1 1/2 hour to make, with all the necessary connections to the diagonal avenue and the tram system. I'm not resorting to GLR frequently, therefore, I'm lacking experience, and I couldn't find a GLR puzzle piece with GLR crossing a diagonal avenue, so I had to find a way to use draggable GLR. This is the result.

 

(About the gray concrete textures: I've set out on a quest to banish the Maxis White Pavement textures from my cities; this was my first attempt to create a textural override for GLR. It needs to be made brighter and the tracks themselves are bothering me; one is too bright and the other one can barely be seen. But to me, this is at least a partial success.)

Finally get a chance to post the pictures i've been working on for a while.  This region uses the Paranagua bay region map and the main city is called Cablardia.  It's modeled on San Fran with a massive tram system.  In the first picture you can see the main avenue and Ferry Terminal Bldg, and the second one you can see the main station.  The city is still a work in progress though.
