I don't understand.  Is green freight roads good or bad?  Does it mean there is a lot of freight or little freight?

My farm silos say there isn't enough freight.  One is next to a green road the other a yellow road when I use the frieght tool.

Green is good, red is bad and yellow is in between.

You should also check you traffic, if there is a traffic jam on the roads out to the end of the map then you will get the message that there isnt enough freight.

Either build a road that can handle more traffick or another connection to the world.

Good question!  I'm interested in knowing the answer to this question, too.  4.gif

I have over 125  windmills & no tokens (solo mode, limited edition).

Also, the top statistics menu panel overlaps the top of the trading menu when I pull it up so I'm unable to see & access some of the tabs and info at the top of it.    edit:  I found that I can move the trading menu by clicking anywhere on it!

It takes ~17 windmills to produce 1 token of electricity (with out the bonus'). Excess tokens are only shown when they are not used by your city.

I'm curious about "large luxurious avenues."  What effect do they have that's worth paying twice the price for a large avenue that carries the same amount of traffic?  I have the same question about bridges. For example there are two kinds of large avenue bridges that both carry the same traffic density for cars per minute, but one type costs twice as much as the other.  If I choose the more expensive kind of road or bridge, what am I buying with that extra money?  it's clearly not more cars per minute, the difference doesn't help my traffic issues at all, and I fail to see what else I would want from a road... someone please tell me what's the point of this option to pay more for the same size of a road or bridge?

EDIT: OK I found this on the wiki: http://citiesxl.wikia.com/wiki/Large_Avenue

But all it says is that the luxious version has twice as many trees in the medium... which does what, exactly?  Is it just for making your screenshots prettier?  Or does it have some actual real game value?

No idea about the LA area, but i got CXL as a download from direct2drive.com

The only options I saw for the PO subscription were credit cards, so I'd also like to know if there's another way...

The options for PO subscription might depend on the country you live in. There are direct bank payment methods available for Netherlands and Germany mostly (iDeal and Sofort). Apart from these specific methods, only credit card is available.

Paypal is something we might consider in the future though if demand is high enough.

just as a suggestion- you guys at MC may want to consider a non CC way to pay in the US considering the CC companies are jacking up fees and making more people decide to go without them altogether.

by forcing me to sign up for planet offer to enjoy the full game- but then only making PO available if i use a credit card- you are crippling me and many others from enjoying the game at all.

the PO doesnt seem like a bad thing to me at this point- but i am sure there are many more like me who either dont have access to or dont trust credit cards.

maybe its a good thing i cant find CXL in any store in LA to begin with- if the only way i can enjoy a complete game is selling my soul to a CC company.

at least let me use my debit card tied to my bank account.....

not sure if this question has been answered yet...

I know that it is not possible to trade between your cities in single player...is it possible to trade between your own cities on the planet offer?

so you create your five cities and trade between them and not have to deal with other people?

I've done this.  I still get yellow roads and messages saying  not enough freight in the area.

A few more questions...

What's the point of upgrading your city hall? What do I get out of it for paying 9k upkeep for a "city hall" instead of 300 upkeep for a "village hall"?

I have 2 rows of air pollution factories in the corner of my map. One row is heavy industry and the other is manufacturing. All high density. The heavy industry is paying 270 in taxes and shows profitability is 77% ... the manufacturing across the street is paying about 1100 in taxes and showing profitability is 100%. The heavy industry doesn't show anything is wrong - it's not saying any resource is too hard to find, or taxes are too high, or not enough workers, or anything, and freight in this area is dark green, right next to an expressway road connection ... so why is it only 77% profitable? What does it want me to do to make it 100% profitable? (I gave up trying to solve this riddle and destroyed all my heavy industry to replace it with manufacturing, so if I screenshot it now, it would show all manufacturing plants in that area)

New Question.

Does it matter how big you make your dumps/junkyards?  It seems you can make them about 3 times as big as the minimum size.  Does that create more tokens or is it just a waste of space?

@EAGCE

You ag areas where they are yellow are at the center of your map, so the runs are long..  Use your largest roads.  You need one to bisect your farms through the long axis.  The 4 farms at the top right hand corner would benefit from anothe road link.  I would build from the approach to the bridge on the 4 farm side to the right hand edge of the map, as straight as you can make it on a road as large as you can make it.  Then a road from the other side of the bridge straight through your long axis. You'll have to play with this.  Remember that freight is  a function of length and the size of the road.

Your two main roads coming in from the left might have been more effective if they had been shifted down so the top one ran through the center of your farming area. Good luck.

My turn to ask a question:

How do I get the citizen tokens? (you know, the ones with 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 on them) On couple ocasions I had one or the other but it dissapeared really quick... Is it a number of the relative class that don't have jobs?

Also, how else could you use them but to build megastructures?

Hello,

I play Cities XL Solo and have noticed lately that I do not see the avatar animations I use to see when I first started to play. For example I use not see animations on the basketball court or the paintball leisure buildings but not anymore. I also use to see more animations around the homes and businesses where the people would park their cars in driveways or stand around doing funny things. I still see the people walking up and down the sidewalks and cars traveling the streets but that is it. I think that they have disappeared since on of the latest patches. Has anyone else noticed this? I do not play the PO so I do not know if I just remember seeing this when I played my 7 day PO trial and they never did appear in Solo mode.

Thanks

John
