I pre-ordered the game (a CD, not a download) a month ago (the 05th of Sept 2009) directly from MC's website.

Didn't MC say on their website that we will get the CD by mail a day before release or I misread???

Today, I got my activation key, but I still don't get any CD, nor any information about my CD order (I sent  an email to get some information but didn't get any response).

Just curious to know how many are in the same case (from North America)?

I ordered the CD a while ago as well and so far I haven't recieved it. The USPS tracking says its on its way to the destination from sorting facility here in the city but nothing so far and I already got todays mail in the box. It's probably USPS's fault or something and I am pissed off. Was planning on playing as soon as the severs came on. Why couldn't they send it via UPS instead of USPS. Btw I am in the US and got my activation key emailed to me today.

I didnt get my cd either but got my activation key (in spam mail folder). I did get an email saying the game has shipped and I should be getting tracking info, but havent gotten that either. I'm in Florida and tomorrow is suppose to be beautiful so I guess I'll spend it outside instead of on the computer.

Got the tracking info in the email from TMP Direct.

Are you serious? First-Class Mail is soooo slow, (Once it took 3 days from the US, the other time it took 2 months, so it varies but still... 2 MONTHS!)

The CD is already in my city. Its probably gonna be delivered tomorrow though they clearly could have done so today coz it was scanned at the sorting facility at 8 am this morning. Again I am pissed that they chose USPS. Why couldn't I get it through UPS like so many people.

I'm in the same boat, Makes me even more sad to see Steam got their release today as well. The only reason I ordered the cd was before MC stated it WOULD be here before release. UGH...

Is there a link where you can download the game online even though you ordered the CD? The CD doesn't have the key anyways so I am wondering if you can download the game and put in the key later while installing.

I don't think so, I think they track the downloads from the ones purchased on the MC Site.  As it says in the email you can only download each file 6 times.

" To avoid frauds, you can download these files for a maximum of 6 times. If you need new download attempts, please contact our customer support support@gamesplanet.com with your order number and the email address used for the purchase. Note that you can save the downloaded files, even burn them to a CD or DVD."

I should of got the Download Version and saved it to a DVD :slapshead:. But I always love having a retail copy of a game with me all the time.

Tell me about it. I put in an order on Sep 11 and here I am without a CD and super pissed off. Can't even get a reply from MC through email. I know its only a day but still it beats the purpose of pre-ordering (atleast for me). ugh!

Well I recieved my copy of Cities XL today and decided to go ahead and install it. I got through all that but when I need to enter the activation key with my account I have a problem. I have no key. I looked on the back of the mayor manual like they say. It has a nice big white box where it looks like a key should appear, but that area is blank. I went all through the case, cd and everything else and still can't find it. Hopefully MC will get back with me on this.

Check your emails too, from what I remember, it said on the website to provide the correct email adress as they will send the key by email, but I might be wrong

Same here as the OP. I'm in New York and I haven't received and CD Key or an email from MC. I pre-ordered from MC and got mine today. Guess maybe tomorrow....

Well I just noticed this post on another thread saying that they will email the activation key when the game is released (I hope they have some big email servers), so hopefully tomorrow then. On the other hand I might actually read a game manual before playing for once in my life now

What if you go back to the shop and show the blank box and tell the vendor: "No key is printed. Can I exchange the box with one with a key?" It shouldn't be a problem if you also show a receipt as proof that you did buy it.

This is starting to worry me... I pre-ordered the special editition, got the email saying you will receive a download link, and activation before 00:01 and it's 21:32 here (22:32) in Frrance and not even a link to preload it yet! :-(
