I was really anooyed of the SC4 exchange so I searched if there was something different. I discovered the STEX, the LEX and the PLEX. Then I discovered the 3dsMax SC4 plugin.

Mostly for the custom content - especially the maps of real areas to start. And yeah, the SC4 official exchange is pretty bad - seems it's mostly people reuploading the same stuff over and over again.

I signed way back in '05 for the STEX, I believe.

I came back because SimCityCentral had all but died during the time I stopped playing SimCity, and being at a dead forum is kinda boring.

I was having some issues with the game 32.gif .  So I searched the web to find the answers.  I found Simtropolis, found  the answers I was looking for, saw the custom contents and was hooked.

Well, I'm a contract killer and abcvs is my latest target. I have been a member of this site for nearly a year and a half as an attempt to get closer to him. I figure I'll buddy up to him for a few more years and then move in for the kill.

Actually it was the custom content (surprise surprise) that initially attracted me to the site. Then I discovered the wealth of information available. Then I discovered there were a lot of polite, intelligent people here and noticed the potential for stimulating conversation. I actually like the site because topics like design, architecture, and of course, urban areas are quite common. This site was right up my alley. ST is great. I love it.

I wanted to stalk the community and hopefully contribute something which I eventually did, in the form of good quality maps. But my First thought was " Oh my gosh! More skyscrapers than the defaults =OO!" But yea. I didn't want to lurk for too long so eventually I started popping in and out of chat and CJ's.Still do too.

RalphaelNinja and a few others had posted on the official BBS about some modded lots they had made. They were only on the LEX here. You had to join in order to download them. So I did. Without asking my mother's permission first. I was such a rebel. 3.gif

I got SC4 Deluxe Edition right after that got released, but my old PC couldn't handle it. While we waited in agony for the old IBM to crap out, I joined to keep tabs on new things and developments. The first day I installed the game on the new PC, I had to install almost 200 plugins that were waiting. Same thing happened when I switched from that PC to a laptop.

I joined because I heard about a plugin that adds snow in SC4. I got an account here for that, and as I was looking for it, I downloaded all the junk that I came across. That was in 2008, so I only looked at the modds section.

Then I saw SimMars.

Then I installed SimMars.

And now I'm part of the SimMars team.

The main reason ive joined ST back then was to get downloads off the stex, but now ive noticed that most City Journals on ST does give some inspiration on how to make a city.Due to that now im more into the Forums and the City Journal Section. 4.gif

Well, as my interest in SC4 RH went down, I wanted MORE. As in, m-o-r-e. 3.gif So, I googled "Sim City 4 downloads" and I stumbled upon here. 9.gif

The first time I went looking for custom content (almost five years ago), I found SCC. I played around there for almost a month, believing that it was the only SC4 fansite. Then a link to the NAM on ST opened the floodgates on what I could get. Those early days led to the still-annoying habit of getting every download that looked good even if I had no use for it. That's crashed two computers so far. :-)

I joined Simtropolis because of the STEX. My first ever download that I can recall, was Goldiva's Yacht Club. The file wouldn't download from the official site, and thats why I first registered at ST2.gif

After discovering the STEX, I also spent hours reading City Journals. Now I'm frequently visiting ST, SC4Devotion/LEX and the PLEX in an eternal hunt for great downloads, tips and tricks. Thanks to you guys the game never dies. Lately I've also started using the forums, and I'm enjoying sharing my experiences with "mayors" from all over the world.

I joined for two reasons

1: Because I saw the tutorials ErwinNegentig posted on YouTube, and I wanted them.

2: Because well. . . because of the custom content, I really wanted the Eaton region.

I aswell joined for the custom content, the next day I got BAT and LE even though I've done NOTHING so far with them. at first I liked te LEX better though cuz I had no idea how to download from the STEX, I just got stuff off the modds and downloads section, took me about a day, since then I downloaded about 2-2.5 gigs between Aug 08 and Dec 08,. then my first PC crashed, I got my moms old laptop then and downloaded another 2 gigs from Dec 08 - March 09 or so. then I got grounded from my computer big time, then when I got ungrounded in June, week school got out, it died, my mom and I shared here microchip sized computer (figurative language there) till august, then I got my current gateway NV52, its got the 2 gigs of stuff off my old one but nothing new, I got into sim racing and haven't really done any SC4 since I got my new one. I did whats in my CJ, Toso Arroyo, and thats basically it. I have...

this much stuff for rfactor and sim racing so far though since september 4.gif anything sim racing you download though is atleast 10-20 mb though many times 40 and sometimes upto 1 gb.

20.2 GB (21,785,272,320 bytes)

3,222 files 217 folders

that included 55 car mods and 124 tracks plus about 30 tracks from trackpacks so about 50 cars and 150 tracks 4.gif download happy much?

I got a CJ, Waterbridge, i'm not a hyperlink expert but search it and it should come up :)
