SC4 what will top it?

As of a week ago I just had the vanilla Sim City 4 with no extras and it was pretty good, But in this last week (thanks to all of you here) I've gotten RH and more mods then I can shake a stick at, and its like there is so much out there how on earth can another sim game top it? (Untill the graphics are way out dated) which will be a while.

But in all honesty i'm not posting just to praise SC4, I had a question also. Can anyone recomend a good ped sky bridge? they have 1 that is in the NAM file. But I don't quite like the look of it. anyways thanks!

Well, SC5 will in a couple years, like you said. But, about the bridge, maybe you could check out sc4devotion, they have some stuff that ST doesn't have, it's pretty useful actually.

I would like there to be SC5 later, but many see it as not happenning. As for what will "top" sc4, we may see Cities XL top SC4 in terms of modern city building...with improved graphics, a 3D engine, and the planet offer, among other features.

honestly after using the demo and see'ing what info they have on cities XL I don't see it doing better then SC4, I was hoping it'd be the next sim type of game. but I just don't see it happening.

It seems that SimCity 4 has achieved something both good (for us) and bad (for other city builders): it has effectively become the nigh-unattainable standard that all serious citybuilders will be measured against from now, by both critics and forumgoers like us (not like one excludes the other), until who knows when.

My prediction? Nothing in the foreseeable future, especially now that the game is only just becoming manageable on most contemporary computers. Maybe in the 10s, but not now, and probably not by Cities XL.

With all the stuff you get off of this site and sc4devotion to add to simcity 4, it seems like we already have simcity 5. I think the things that these guys come up with just get better and better. I just hope they keep up the good work! I cant lie. I could play this for a couple more years.

And I think  the devs of a future SC5 would be wise to wait and see how CXL is received, and learn from its mistakes. Which would mean they could start designing in early 2010, and I really don't see how it could hit stores in 2011 then.

Of course this is all speculation Be patient though, I'm totally confident they won't let this great franchise die.

Let's see Maxis come back ONE more time (at least) and make an SC5. Although, at my local Target Department Store, the Tag under it says "Sim City 5" $19.99. This could be a sheer mistake or a sad misfortune. If this is true, maybe SC6, because CXL doesn't have it.

At the moment Cities XL can replace SC4 ONLY for graphics, because there are still lots of things to do.

You talked about a SC5. Is it a dream or there's something real that say "Maxis return: SC5!" (or Simcity 5000?, Simcity forever? or SimCitySocieties2?)
