To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

4783. ^^ Windings are a text format using all kinds of symbols instead of letters. It is a PITA to decipher if you have not been using it for at least a century, 24/7.

4785. I'm more a Times New Roman fan, myself.

4787. I mainly use Times New Roman as well, mainly because I'm to lazy to change the standard format used in Word.

Yes, well, Arial and Times New Roman are the classic "default fonts". Typography geeks thus hate them on account of that they're "overused".

I'll admit, things in Word usually get left in Times New Roman, and things in Paint usually get left in Arial... on the other hand, I like sticking Verdana into Simtropolis-related stuff since that's the font this site uses. As for Highway Gothic, it's not a good font for general use but whenever American roads are involved, it's the way to go. Those from Europe may prefer something like Transport Medium or Mittelschrift instead. That's fine too! Just no Clearview, please.

I like Comic Sans. This is quite the conversation.

Well, the idea behind Clearview is to be easier to read. And it is... thus why it's functionally superior (at least in negative contrast) and why it's gained a lot of popularity with some agencies.

...the problem is that aesthetically, it's hideous. The huge counter spacing makes it appear all bugged out, and combined with the extra serifs, it just doesn't look like something that belongs on a highway sign. Too much cutesy, not enough serious.

Comic Sans is also a hideous font, although I will give it credit for one thing: putting the cross bars on the capital I. A lot of fonts don't do that, making them look identical or near identical to the lowercase L. The word "Ill" demonstrates why this is a bad idea.
