4683. Why did you take the 'scenic' route? Normally, when we Dutch use that phrase, it means that we lost direction and took a longer route than we should have taken. Does the same apply here?

Larks: not if the first thing that happens is me getting sniped.

So I could drive down some roads I'd never driven down before.

Nah, "scenic" means taking a longer route for recreational purposes... intentionally. Getting lost we call "getting lost".

My favorite scenic routes are the ones that are actually the quickest routes

4686. Duke: I meant that it is used as an excuse, though I should have made that more evident in my post.

Ah, okay.

For sake of emphasis:

This is how I drove down in the morning.

And this is how I drove home.

4695. Is it that busy? Can't think of any really busy highway here in the Netherlands, though there are lots of jams.

And since this'll be the last post from me today, it is clear that I didn't reach 3000 posts today. Perhaps tomorrow, though Tuesday is more likely.

Good night everyone!

Depends on where and when. I-95 is 1,925 miles long (that's 3,097 kilometers). Not all of it is bad, but many parts of it are notoriously troublesome. It runs through a lot of urban areas, particularly along the "Northeast corridor" from Washington, DC to Boston, Massachusetts. And urban areas mean rush hour traffic or just traffic in general.

The older I get, the slower I drive. Even at night... around here you must be careful of deer. My buddy hit a deer on his bike two nights ago. They are everywhere.

But yeah, I still like to go fast every once in a while, but I doubt I'll be breaking my land speed record ever again.

4699. Whereas I don't have a license.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.
