Personally, I never understood the habit of leaving the TV on while you go to sleep. My roommate freshman year of college did that, and it would keep me up.

The poblem is, sometimes something I hear will grab my attention, and then I start wanting to at least take a glance at the screen. Can't sleep while glancing at screen!

I've never really been subject to the whole "old people don't understand technology" thing. My grandfather always has been and still is quite the gadget geek, and knows more about computers than anyone else in the family. I'm friends with my grandmother on Facebook. My mother was learning about computer programming before there was any such thing as a PC. My father isn't tech-savvy, but he isn't stupid, either. He doesn't create embarassing stories, at least.
