I don't know if anyone else has found this out, but when you want an airport in Simcity3k,here is what you get:

simcity3regularairport.jpg

Is it realistic?No

Now, look at this photo:

simcity3customairport.jpg

..that looks a way lot better.

Note:I am not going to tell anyone how I did it.Sorry about the graphics gliches(The airplanes on the grass)

duh, just open the powerplants menu, the rewards menu and the garbage menu and ALL lots appear in the landmarks menu. And with enough patience you can build something like that.

I don't think it's realistic to have windmills and powerplants in the airport and right next to the landing strip too...3.gif Just a thought...

Ah, those good old days. I played SC3KU like crazy, but since SC4 came out, I only played it sometimes when I got bored of SC4. My largest city had 3.3 million Sims or so, at least, it was a mess. I also had a great time destroying cities until there was no building left, and had ehrm... some really crazy cities 3.gif

What about the elevated highway (there wasn't another kind of highways) at the end of the runway?

I forgot how cartoony sc3ku looked as I haven't played it in more than 7 or 8 years. Once I figured out how to make my own buildings I went crazy and replaced every building in the game with my own, which can be found at the old Exchange under the name scatterbones and Innovator2k4.

Also, in Sim City 2000, you use to be able to build those massive population centres - they looked like a space ship and they used to house upwards of 250,000 people?

How come you can't build those in SC3000?

I think this version went BACKWARDS!

I also think so.

I miss some of the buildings from SC3k. Yes the graphics were sub-par compared to the graphics of SC4, but some of the buildings (skyscrapers in particular) were just so cool looking. I know that some of the people here have recreated some of the old buildings, but made them to better suit SC4....ah how I love those buildings getting a new lease on life....

I pulled SC3000 out of the box the other day, and I remembered how much I liked the buildings in this game. I actually like them better than SC4s. Sure, thier graphics are meh, but I loved the creativity in these buildings.

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity
