Presenting Guaonico Afuera, another ward of the town of Guaonico, and showcasing the history of why this place uses the power of rushing water!

In earlier times, this rushing creek hosted watermills, which later evolved into this industrial park, further powered by the neighboring Guaonico Hydroelectric Plant (in Guaonico, city to the left):

This creek finally reaches its downstream destination after this waterfall, where it then traverses a short canyon on its way to the sea!

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

As the city of Jaruco develops, a stagnant creek near the industrial park was rescued, and the fallow industrial land redeveloped into a glamorous walkable neighborhood! In that rescue, an old watermill was rescued and restored!

The watermill does tell the story of this place, being the birthplace of industry on this part of the region, making use of a spring with an unusually high discharge right before it falls onto the main river nearby!

Another one from me. A small, partly decorated creek flowing through the heart of a bigger village.

Automated Notice Message

All posts after 1 March, 2026 @ 01:37 GMT were lost in the site crash.

We've added this message thread divider in every topic across all forums for what were then active threads. (We decided active is if the most recent extant post (from the backup) was on or after 1 January, 2026.)

This divider serves as notice that the conversation was interrupted. Answers and further discussion which used to be here have been lost. Keep this in mind when replying. Our hope is to rebuild what is missing.

I am Lab Rat.
