Does anybody have a texture suitable for the side of the valve portion of a tanker truck?  Like where all the knobs, levers, and gauges are?

nosoupforyou, YES, you couldn't have mentioned a better example!

jestarr, these look pretty close, maybe if you could put both of them on the last page' metal roof texture, I might be able with Paint to darken them a bit.

thanks...1.gif

it's supposed to be a subterranian dwelling for my soon to come C&C lots.

ZipZapZop: If you have Photoshop, you can change the color by going to Image>Adjust>Hue/Saturation/Brightness.

Here's a nice mowed grass texture I've been using a lot lately. Sort of a R$$$ lawn type of grass since it's so green and pristine. It might be a little too green for some. 2.gif

Hey everybody, what's up?

Could i get someone to make this:texturebrickmontecello.jpg into a tileable texture?

As you can see.. the pic is from an angle that would make the bricks not line up perfectly in gmax.   Maybe someone could make one that does?

You know, I searched most of the texture sights listed for an hour or two, and then I had a thought. Regarding certain archetectural details, such as doors, windows and such, I simply did an internet search on those (seperately) and found enough door and window company sites and historical architecture sites that I not only found more than i could ever imagine using, I even found a photo with the near exact design of the door on my house (my first BAT I'm working on) Also, being Irish, let me recommend a search on doors of Dublin if you want some snazzy R$$$ doors for your buildings.

I'm searching for a texture/color that goes on cilinders like this.

distillation001.jpg

infact its for these same towers only recreated in Gmax but I dont have any idea how to get a texture like this shiny and stuff. Ralphael yours are getting pretty close but they are still a bit to dark. Any ideas guys were to look best? Nice shiny metal textures for tubes and stuff would be best

Decius, this probably wouldn't so much be a texture, as it would be a special material you setup:

it needs custom-tweaked specular & diffuse lighting, and you will probably have to play with the phong/blinn/etc shading systems. Also, it appears that the render you posted is using a reflection...so you could either use an environmental one (I don't think that works in GMAX, could be wrong), or a mapped reflection. You may be able to pull it off in GMAX, but you may need 3dstudio to do it.

However, they definitely cannot be achieved using just a texture map.

Kopaka, first a building never looks like this in the game, because of the aerial view. If You look at a glass building from the ground like in that picture, the sky is reflected in the glass. But when You look at a building from the sky like you do in the game, the ground is reflected in the glass.

It is very hard to make good glass skyscraper textures, and I am no expert. But this is something that might work for a start:
