I always like to provide suggestions but I'm afraid I can't think of any at the moment. I'm a fan of maps and like the ones you've done. The tours and development updates are great ways to show the region.

    This island nation has a thriving economy. It is strategically located between the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />US and UK, two centres for world trade, and has become a stop off for many cargo ships travelling this route.

    This constant contact with American and British companies has meant that many have set up shop on the Island and this foreign direct investment allowed Isla de Suenos to expand its port, making it more efficient, and to build up world class infrastructure on the island itself. All these factors have proved considerably effective in allowing the country to become competitive and stay on top. These factors, combined with a good business ethic, has meant that Citibank, the island

    pipishere: Thanks! Just making a little friendly competition. 3.gif

    Muzz: Lol, that song is perfect for stuff like this. I'd have never have heard of the song if it wasn't for the London 2012 bid. Good luck with yours, I look forward to seeing it!

    jacqulina: Thanks, nice to see you here again.

    Future Updates: Well, updates on North Shore should be coming soon! Finally! I'll be playing on SimCity 4 most of today to get it done (fingers crossed). Stay tuned and keep on commenting. 1.gif

    Sneak Peak at North Shore

    North Shore is taking along time to develop into exactly what I want it to look like. Problems with some plugins has also delayed its development, but I have managed to get this picture of part of North Shore's beach. This section of beach is located in the Northern-most point of North Shore, in the suburb of Little Haven.

    As you can see the beach is pristine, lined with rocks and palm trees and has lots or beautiful coral on it's seabed. You can also see some fishing and recreational sailing boats.

    Hopefully more pics of North Shore will be coming soon! In the meantime, check out the first CJ video on Simtropolis - link in my signature or a few posts above here!

    Very good! I have gone through the whole CJ now, and am very impressed16.gif! I have watched the video, perfect timing for the award I see, what a coincedence3.gif. Pipishere has released one too, but it focusses more on culture.
    I like your maps very much, what program do you usually use for them, im guessing photoshop?

    Latest Update & Stuff

    It's been a while since any major update, and North Shore is taking a long time to perfect so don't expect that any time soon. In the meantime, here are some NEW updates!

    The City of Kaneone (Capital City)

    The capital city of Kaneone is nominated for the SCJU Capital of Culture award. As part of it's campaign the city has just opened it's new, state-of-the-art Centre of Arts & Culture. Situtated in the cosmopolitan downtown Kaneone, the Centre of Arts & Culture is surrounded by cafes, a park and memorial gardens, all in the heart of the capitals financial and political area. Just one block away from the city's Central underground station, the Centre of Arts and Culture is easily accessible by road, the city-wide underground (both the North Circular and South Circular go to the Central Station), by taxi and by bus.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Kaneone_Aug30_CentreofArtsCulture.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    The grand opening today marked the start of the nation's Summer Festival, a huge annual cultural event which parades from city to city around the island. With cultural music, food and dances from around the world the Summer Festival marks the end of the island's summer period. This years Summer Festival started with the grand opening of The Centre of Arts & Culture with the entire glass atrium building being lit by purple and blue lights, and purple and pink fireworks launching in the sky.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Kaneone_Aug30_operahouse.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    As part of the Summer Festival, and the city's Capital of Culture campaign, the Royal Opera House has put on special cultural opera shows from around the world. The week long event will see the Royal Opera House, which sits opposite the famous City House, give free admittance to every one of it's 7 nightly opera shows.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Kaneone_Aug30_Museum.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    The city's Royal Museum of Art (picture shows back of museum) has also put on several cultural art events including a gallery where visitors can paint their own art and have it displayed over the week long event. There are also free lessons and guides on cultural art.

    All events at The Centre of Arts & Culture, Royal Opera House and Royal Museum of Art are free for the duration of the week. The Royal Museum of Art always has free admittance to citizens throughout the year.

    New Offices take root in the Capital

    When we last visited the City of Kaneone on our whistle-stop tour of the island there were many medium rise office buildings in the heart of the city aswell as many low rise residential buildings. Since then the residential buildings have been expanded to large multi-story houses and apartments and businesses have flocked to the capital.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Kaneone_Aug30_NewOffices2.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    Just a few of the city's latest additions. Between the blue stripey office block and the small school is the newly built IBM building. IBM is a major developer of chipsets and has taken advantage of the islands large High-Tech industry. The red and gold building south of the hospital is the islands first Hard Rock Cafe. Businessmen from the United States came to the island and decided to cash in on it's tourist boom with this, the first of a series of Hard Rock Cafes in the island's major cities.

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/Kaneone_Aug30_CityTravel.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    The most recognisable new building on the skyline of the city is the CityTravel building. The CityTravel Corporation, who operate city breaks around the island and also own the AireSue

    The Island is Celebrating and Partying after a Fantastic Result

    <ahttp://www.x2digital.net/cj/celebrating2.jpg align=baseline border=0>

    The Capital City of Kaneone is celebrating after it was announced that it had won the SCJU Capital of Culture. The city had a fantastic fireworks and laser show at the new, state-of-the-art Centre of Arts & Culture. Citizens, campaigners and government officials celebrating both within the centre itself and in the surrounding gardens.

    Just hours into the party, yet more champagne bottles popped in The City of Kaneone and other cities around the island as it was announced the island had also won the SCJU Gold Tourism Award. Public celebrations in cities across the country were held and an enourmous celebration marked the win in Sunset Beach, one of the world's more popular tourist destinations and where the Summer Festival is passing through.

    In a statement in the early morning, the Prime Minister wanted to thank everyone who took part in the capaigns and congratulated the cities of the island and it's people. The Prime Minister also said that the competition was close and said it would be a great challenge to retain any awards against such fantastic nations as those that took part.

    Sorry for the lack of updates recently, it has been a long time. I don't have any in-game updates to show you at the moment, but let's catch up on the latest goings-on:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Pearl City Explosion Disaster
    The southern and vibrant Pearl City was the scene of a devastating disaster. An explosion occured at Power Plant B, part of the city's Power Station Complex (which consists of two gas power plants). The explosion destroyed three office buildings, an apartment and the power plant itself. In total, the disaster cost 282 lives and 1,127 people were injured. The cause of the explosion was later established as a fault in a feeding pipe which provided the power plant with highly volatile Hexane gas. Maintenance work 18 months earlier was the first event in a chain of events that led to the explosion.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Chaumont / Pakkusena Conflict
    The political conflict between Chaumont and Pakkusena has been gaining momentum, and the government of Isla de Sue

    Ordnance Map

    No in-game updates yet, I still haven't been able to get around to playing on it. Anyway, here is the Ordnance Map of the island, it shows just how the cities are growing with the amount of transport infrastructure around them.

    PS. My server is down at the moment, driving me crazy! So all pictures prior to this update won't be showing yet. I had to host this one on imageshack.
