Welcome to Ong Bak!

This is my first CJ at Simtropolis. Hope you will enjoy it!

Ong Bak is a small, yet booming city in an anonymous South East Asian country. It may remind you of Rangoon or Bankok, for it shares a similar history and growth pattern with those cities.

Ong Bak has experienced similar challenges as many other developing nations: lack of infrastructures and urban vision, pollution, informal towns and shanties, etc. as well as agressive construction of new condominiums, skyscrapers, malls or marinas. The city is rapidly changing its economy from the oil industry to services as it aligns with modern market economies.

Check the aerial view of Ong Bak with useful markers that will help you navigate through the city at the map I uploaded to MapLib. You can turn the markers on/off at the legend menu on the top right corner.

Update 1: The Chan Rai floating market

Wake up early to see the merchants and customers trading goods at Chan Rai. After Banjarmasin (Indonesia) and Bangkok (Thailand), Ong Bak boasts the third busiest floating market in the world.
