Looking at that, I get a feeling of just how much better SC4 looked, not to mention the same game with all the custom content created. BTW, I didn't know that Vista can run games of that age, as mine can't run younger ones.

I'm willing to bet that he is running 32-bit Vista, meaning he can run SC2000 (which is 16-bit). I can't run anything that's pre-32-bit as I'm running 64-bit Vista.

I have vista and I can run SimCity Classic 3.gif You have to go to compatability mode and run it for windows 95...

Anyways back on topic. Thats a nice looking city, for a SC2000, The city looks very europeanish.

what I wish they had done for SC4 was to be able to just zone for an airport, seaport and the game develops it to fill the zoned space

I miss playing SC2000 at times, but the farthest back I can play and not have issues with the graphics is 3000

Back in the early 90s, I had an Amiga which wasn't powerful enough to run sc2000. So, being about 13 at the time, I thought I would just write my own version. Needless to say, I didn't get very far, but I did manage to make something.

You could plop buildings down and make a city, but there was no simulation behind it, just static graphics.

Man, I wonder if I even have that computer still! I had some truly beautiful custom tile sets. Did anyone else use a set that made all the buildings look like the 1920's, even the skyscrapers? I loved that--kind of what I'm aiming for now in SC4.

Most impressive, and it all brings back very fond memories... :)

However looking at the graphics, I have second thoughts about buying SC2000 again... I think I just like SC4 so much better.
