Hey man! I remember taking a look at McConnellVille I not too long ago. I was pretty impressed with the CJ you had, it's nice to see you revive the region. Your region shot looks really good. I love what you've done with all the farmland and all the trees surrounding it.

The village of Trenton looks really good. I like the use of the W2W buildings. I love W2W, because it gives small towns a realistic feel. I also like how you chose to keep the buildings rather low key. Great excecusion, it all looks great! Keep it up, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your region.

wow! i like it. one word of advise though, work on some sprawl. so instead of trees and farms then random skyscraper forest. it would be like a buffer zone

Very nice small town/rural setting! And the docks, amazing work there, everything lined up perfectly. On that interchange though, the on/off ramps on one side of the overpass are completely unnecessary since you had it covered on the other side for commuters.

Great work here, amazing.

selles:thanks alot for taking the time to take a look at both my regions. I hope my continued work will keep your interest. I have been working on making more realistic small towns and your comments make me think im headed in the right direction.

jacquelina: thanks a lot for stopping by, hope to see you back!

Nikferni: hey thanks for the comments, but there is more to McConnellVille than farms, i hope you stay tuned.

    Tomasneto: Thanks

ironicepitome: hey thanks for the advice, and i hear ya...i just get get so anxious trying not to build too much at once. Future plans of McConnellVille are to invade current farmlands to build more residential areas to match the demand... trust me, there will be sprawl in the region!

Teeparax: your wish is my command...check out the teaser below!

Archaen: Thanks for your comments. i personnaly take a lot of pride in building up my waterfron using thses kinds of methods. I'm glad you enjoyed it. o and that nterchange...it was my first one with thr rhw and i got a little carried away and realized it when i was done but just decided to leave it...i was hoping no one would pick up on it...o well, i hope you come back to check out future updates, one of which is planned to be completely dedicated to a new and improved regional highway system!

ComputerGuy890100: thanks for your comments, with you and everyone else sharing their opinions, i don't see a reason why i can't make this a long running CJ!

And now for a little teaser while i work on my next update: An overview of Downtown McConnellVille

Dude..this looks awesome! Everything, from the downtown to the suburbs and the highways! I suggest you download some seawalls from the STEX. They would fit nicely in the CBD area. Keep it up!

UPDATE 2- The Village of Porter and Downtown McConnellVille

    Downtown McConnellVille

McConnellVille has a new Baseball Team: The McConnellVille Turtle Monkeys! A small island is being constructed near the CBD. This is the starting point to extending the El Rail and subway systems across the river to the stadium and its surrounding area. McConnellVille Municipal Stadium:

    Construction of Island:

The completed subway tunnel that leads into the existing subway lines in Downtown:

    Other side of river:

Completion of Bridge: Immediate development follows when the stadium station is opened.

    McConnellVilleCity-Aug3014912376838.jpg

Bridge in use: The Bridge is already five times over its design capacity (about 10,000 passengers daily) presenting another problem for the transportation department. Plans to open more bridges/ tunnels in the future are already being discussed and the city is open to all creative suggestions or ideas to solve its traffic problems.

Nice job, I like the downtown area on the island. I also like the small town atmosphere in the outskirts of the city. 4.gif

Awesome! I don't know where to start! The elevated rail looks really great and it's nice to see how you connected it with the underground rail. The picture of the baseball park looks really stunning. Very nice city planning!

I'm looking forward to seeing more!

ok seriously you gotta organise your stuff more... it goes from a small suburb to a city to a farm back to suburbs... keep it consistent

ok now your region looks fairly nice, for a city like that i'd expect suburbs to expand out past the farms first and a even bigger airport and seaport, but overall your region looks nice could have better look mountains but is nice.

your have good amount of variety and green maybe you should put some parks and stadiums in to make your region even better,

and last of all make your city better layout more dead ends in streets and roads have more roundabouts and diagonals more turns etc,

but again your region is good

i only say all this because you have great potential to do really well if you present well.

I can dig it. The waterfront looks great and you have quite a few very nice pics. I especially like the closeup of your el to sub transition, as well as the hang gliders over the el bridge. It's pretty cool that you can still make a maxis glider look good.

Great update! I really like your city. The transportation networks look really good in those random pictures of your downtown. I especially like how you brought the subway line to the surface in that island and connected it to the ballpark area with the Elevated rail bridge. Your small town looks great too, especially that central plaza area.

    REPLIES

    panthersimcity4: thanks for the comment

    TmiguelT: thanks

De Ja Vu: hey thanks for taking the time, i appreciate your comments and i'm pretty happy with how those turned out as well.

yunxiang: thanks for commenting, hope to see you back

Teeparex: thanks for your comments and for liking the rail, i've been working on trying to make a more realistic el system...getting closer anyway!

jacqulina: thanks again for stopping by, glad you appreciates the details.

buildsolid: thanks for the comment, appreciate it

danielcote: hey thanks for the comment, i am a bit curious what you think is missing though...

fabsies55: i really appreciate your comments and critiques. i agree that the region looks a litttle too jumbled but i am trying to ultimately make two large urbanized regions with farms and nature between them with little pockets of villages and small towns... it may be tough to see now bc so much is missing but hopefully as the region starts to fill in, it will start to look better, could just be wishful thinking though. thanks again and i hope to see you back.

Muck308: hey thanks for the comments. i really like that close up of the rail transition too, i think its the small parking lot in the back that makes it for me. hope to see you back

haljackey: hey thanks for taking the time to comment, i really appreciate it

selles: thanks for stopping by and commenting i appreciate it, o and thanks for reviving the old mcconnellville the other day lol

    UPDATE: Stout City

Ok so my plan for the region from the get go was to have two main cities in the occupying the region. This is the second, smaller city of Stout.

First a region shot, eventually the land between the two cities will fill in but i have been in "city mode" for the last weel or so so the farms and villages that will eventyually develop have been put on the backburner...( image is a little squished bc of size)

Great update! I like your choice of buildings for the CBD. The parks look really wonderful and go along very well with the sandstone pavements!
