So happy for you that you have shed this load and that it went OK.  I'll bet you slept better.

Good job mate! I'm sure it will just go smooth from here... 9.gif

Well first time in the thread. 16 male, straight. I have thought 'what if?' but I have ultimately dismissed it. A few of my ex's have been bi, and it really hasn't bothered me much.

In this day and age... no, not really. Not all, and not even necessarily a majority, but a lot of people start dating pretty much as soon as they start high school. And relationships among young people may last as short as a few weeks. That's just how it works when it's more about raging hormones than actual love. Find someone, get horny... get bored, find someone else. Rinse, repeat. Long-term commitment and personal compatibility are more adult ideas that teens don't "get".

Ah, good, I always like it when someone who plays sport and is reasonably good-looking comes out :P

Also, congratulations on your 10th anniversary, Ian.

10th? Already? I am getting old . . .

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. I don't object to what they are doing. I object to the word "dude" to describe anyone.

I've never liked to make a big deal about my sexual orientation. I am gay as well, but generally I prefer to keep it on the down-low, which might stem from living in Bible-thumping South Carolina. I'd like to persue a political career, but if I do, I don't want to be known as the first gay mayor, governor, senator, etc. Rather I'd just like to be known as another political figure who so happens to be gay.

I wish you good luck with that but I believe society is not at that point yet. We are still carrying on about the first black this, the first latina that, even the second woman to do whatever.

It seems to me that, as long as we are making an issue over people's demographic data, we are focusing on it too much. Most people on the planet are not straight white men. Can't we all accept that and move on? (Naive of me, I know. I really don't expect to see that in my lifetime.)

There are too many solitudes, and many are created by outsiders. Genetically we are over 99 per cent identical, no matter what outward characteristics we may express. I don't care if you are black, white, or sky-blue-pink with orange polka dots, and I could care less about what you do for love and companionship. All of this is private, and exhibitionism is wrong. On the other hand, you don't have to be secretive, either. Life is too short to be snooping into other people's way of life.

I am annoyed by the stereotype. When someone thinks of a gay man, they think of someone in tight clothes, sipping martinis, and have the posture and verbal cues of a Valley girl. First of all, this makes up a small percentage. Secondly, I am not attracted to the feminine types! I want someone like the Old Spice Guy, not Chris Crocker.

Dear World, Wake up! It's the 21st Century, open up your mind a little and see the big picture!

Love Always, Peter

Relax, it is human nature to classify. The Roman empire was totally insensitive to sexual preferences. Brothels recently unearthed in Herculaneum clearly indicate that you could purchase time with a partner of either sex. It is only the Christian civilization that is so sexually repressed in the last millennia. St. Augustine with his doctrine of clerical celibacy did everyone a serious disservice. Funny thing about him. He was married and had nine kids.
