On those occasions when the STEX search fails, use google.. there are googlebots on the STEX. It can be annoying when that search bug happens

And It won't let me insert an image by link either, I type out the URL of its location, http://img15.imageshack.us/i.joshnewsig.jpg/   (sorry it comes out as links), and I checked back I think 3 times and it was that exact URL. And I resize it to 300x50, (this is my signature picture), and all I get is a red X in the corner.

That's because the server is giving you a 404 Not Found error, therefore, you get a red X. Imageshack URLs aren't formatted like that either. Make sure you're copying the right link. Also, about STEX search not working, that issue's been brought up before, IIRC. It's not accurate anyways. I'd just recommend using the Google Custom Search.

There's a weird script related bug on the Exchange, although I get the impression it's a known issue. It's been present for as long as I can remember, which is a long time. Basically, in the STEX, I'm can't really click any of the options on the top, such as Most Popular or what have you. It just dumps me to Page 1 of Newest uploads. I have to manually type in each page in to the address bar, which can get irritating

I'm guessing it has something to do with Javascript. I usually use FF, but in IE, the Error message mentions that a script is broken

No, it's because you're using it wrong.. hehe.. If you read it, you'll see that that line across the top is what you ARE VIEWING! If you want to change it, select from the left column .. when you do that you will see the top row change. When you click that top row, you are just re-selecting what you are already viewing.

For some reason I couldn't get to the site this morning. The circle in Firefox kept going round and round, and then it works. What happened this morning?

I can not comment to stex files at the moment. Don´t know why?

Any ideas?

I´m using Windows XP SP3 with FireFox 3.6.8

edit: It is working on my other machine (Win 7 FF 3.6.8), so there might be an issue with my system.

I'm having terrible trouble downloading things from the STEX these past couple days. The downloads are very slow (few kb/s), which combined with that they keep timing out after a few minutes makes it impossible to download anything larger than megabyte or two.

I've tried to download the network addon mod about dozen times, and best I've got is 5 megs out of the 18.1MB it is. And next attempt the download of course started from scratch instead of resuming. 15.gif

And Firefox didn't even always start the download at all, just waited there. Had to switch to IE 8 to get the downloads to start reliably in the first place.

The STEX servers are back online, but downloading is a really slow business (at least in Denmark, where i'm located), and when it gets to a certain point it stops.

I hope this is just for some hours, but i thought i'd let you know anyway.

Ditto; Downloads are molasses slow for me. I am now cross-referencing everything I find in the STEX with the SC4Devotion DB, as their servers are fine.

@Simmaster, I hope that it has to do with servers being down, because we're back to dial-up speeds, so to speak. If those servers get back on-line, I hope we'll get into the 100's of KB/s, instead of a mere 20, if we're lucky...

Regards,

Korot

For the third day in a row i'm trying to download cycledog's tree mod (5.18mb),

it's at 61KB @ 8.9kb/sec and it doesn't seem to be getting any further.

I've got a 30MB/sec connection. Imagine my frustration.

Hi

I have a problem with downloading files from STEX.

I internet connection is 1Mbps, and usually i'm downloading movies in around 30-40 minutes, but when I want to download something from Stex it takes ages. As an example, buildings files of size 7MB, I have to wait more than 1,5 hour to download. Could You help me somehow?? I have Windows 7, but I dont think its a problem. Let me know

It used to do this all the time.. but then it was fast for the past 3? months. Then today it was extremely slow again. 1.7mb file in just under 24 min. I'm sure they will fix it now that attention has been brought to the situation.

Yeah its been like that for me too; my downloads keep timing out. I know the download speed has been as low as 600 bytes per second for me.

With me they pause for like 20 minutes and then jump to 10% and then pause again, jump to 20%, etc...

Sorry if this has been noted, but

I've spotted that pressing the "New Entry" button on the new CJ Section of the site and then leaving the page without submitting a new entry still results in ones CJ being bumped to the front page.

While this is useful for combating the "Schulmania Effect" it's also probably a little unfair
