    Oh come on now, are you really gonna blame this on the new simcity release? Simtropolis has been slow and unresponsive for YEARS on end, no matter how often the site has been changed. Now i know we're not supposed to say anything 'bad' about simtropolis and quite possibly this message won't even show up but blaming the overall slowness of this site on an upcoming release? Get real.

    I can't get these buildings to grow in my cities, they simply won't show up. I've let sc4 run for 160 years of gametime, zones appropiately, with a huge res demand (tho nowhere near capacity) and these 5x3 zones remain empty. Sure they look great but what use are they if they won't show up ingame?

    For the third day in a row i'm trying to download cycledog's tree mod (5.18mb), it's at 61KB @ 8.9kb/sec and it doesn't seem to be getting any further. I've got a 30MB/sec connection. Imagine my frustration.

    This would've made a great download if cars on the parking lots appeared random; in the picture above there are (at least) two lots with the same colored card parked in identical order. If you're going to use peg's work, you might as well use his car cluster prop pack.

If they'd restricted themselves to the use of maybe a dozen additional files, I'd be fine with it, but a page full of PACKS that need to be downloaded, approx. 1mb each?? Insanity.     if u know how, change your virtual memory settings as well. min/max should be 4096mb. the maximum window's xp allows. it helps with loading and scrolling.quote> Yes, if anything else fails, the obligatory VM advice comes up.     Thanks for your input! Of course, little things add up - I would imagine a large and dense city will demand more than a few bytes to display all names, particularly when zoomed out. It's what it does to the available memory when labels are *not* displayed (I'm not sure whether you ment "store" when you said 'show' the 2nd time) After all, plugins also drain resources even when they're not in use anywhere in the region; I kinda figured that goes for signs & labels as well.. grtz, 19:09:05:13.

Hi there, I guess I'm not the only one trying to keep SC4 running as smoothly as possible but for some reason I've been unable to find anything about signs & labels in regard to how it affects system resources. Here's what I'm after: I want to name all my streets/roads/avenues and whatever can be named, but most of the time these signs & labels will be turned off. Does anyone know whether it consumes memory or otherwise has an effect on gameplay when sign & labels are NOT displayed? grtz, 19:09:05:13.
