vershner you've read my mind! I'm currently BATting some eye candy pieces I'll reveal soon. I'm also sorta working on an underground carpark entrance with a spiralling road deck. I'll probs be posting a peek later today when I get home.

    Sneak Peek Time!

The first picture is a circular underground car park entrance I'm messing with. Obviously textures aren't final. What do you think of the model/idea?

    carpark.jpg

This picture shows two other BATs I'm messing with, a sort of giant underpass staircase and the 1st piece of  the SubSurface rail set I'm doing to compliment my London Underground sub-suface station. The problem I'm having as you can see, is matching up the 1 tile pieces. How do you do this? My LODs are 16m x 16m but I'm not sure as I've not done that sort of thing before. The last picture is another SubSurface piece in the works, a single track junction leading off the main line, the sort you would see leading to small branch lines on the London Underground. The crossover connecting the other track to the juntion cannot be seen as it is in the tunnel. Thoughts?

These are all looking really nice.

For the gap problem, I think you need to extend the LODs a little bit, so maybe 16.5 or 17 meters instead. Then, you can use iLive Reader to change the size of the model (according to the lot editor), tricking it into letting you place that on your lot even though it's bigger than it. I can never remember what property to change, but I'm sure someone else does.

For your stairs, I think you should make them more realistically scaled. 3ds Max can render them better than Gmax, and it will give a better sense of scale.

The parking garage is a great idea, and looks like it is well done so far. I have fallen in love with your subsurface rails and stairs. The texturing is beautiful and the models are great. Really looking forward to these kinds of things!

i love those stairs, hey i dont suppose you fancy expanding into a set, you know have subsurface alleyways with shopfronts at the same depth, maybe an open plaza? maybe even a subway station linking your subsurface paths with your sub surface rails, i just love your style and texturing.... the circular parking looks awesome too.

If it's a prop then the Lot Editor doesn't care. It's only buildings that have to be smaller than the lot.

The parking garage is looking good, but I notice in the second picture you can see the lower end of the road. Extending the end so it's behind the pillar would look better.

    The subsurface bats look great.

Wow! Spectacular! The spiral car park looks a bit too bright...you should tone the colors down a bit. Anyway I like what I see so far!

    Keep up the good job!

Heres the latest picture of my rail pieces, I've got two in-game: the straight piece and the tunnel portal piece. As you'll see they match fine now but the difference in the two seperate pieces is quite large in brightness, even though they have the same render settings.

Looking good! The tunnel end is slightly misaligned but everything else looks good.

When you render it, keep the rest of the tunnel model and just move the model in relation to the LODs for the section you want to export. Remember that there is light bouncing around down there. But at the ends, the end of the tunnel blocks off light coming from some directions, so it's darker, while in the middle, the tunnel is only being blocked from bouncing light from the two walls.

Great new projects, the parking lot and the stairs are superb.

The underground rail bothers me a bit at the height of external walls. A wall of approximately 1 meter high with a mesh barrier, is it possible?

But I expect to see more forward.

hello, I see I have missed alot of your stuff. Have you released those new underground pieces? (besides the underground station) They really like nice and this is a very cool project. Your newest creation, the carpark as you call it is super cool.

Looks great! my only plea, sort of, to you would be to make lifts entrance to look a bit less like out-house...

Also may be you could try some refletion (very very defused) maps on the central concrete core the shape of it may lend itself great to such a material

Thanks everyone! I have a question, I want to be able to path the carpark lot so that you can see cars driving down into the carpark. I know that the LODs will need to hug the road surface and that part is easy but the thing is I can't find anything that shows me how PATH it! I have daeley's SC4 Path Creator and the Reader SC4Path templates so that I can insert the paths I create. The sticking point for me is how I link the 9 SC4Path files to each respective Lot Tile?!

I don't actually think it's possible. If the LODs hug the walls, the ground is still there, so I think you'd just see ground there.

I'm pretty sure that it's impossible, but I think I've heard of it being done recently. If no one knows, you may want to try PMing Andreas Roth. I don't think he would know, but I think he might know who does know.
