Ahh nothing like spending Thanksgiving with two cousins and an uncle that live and breathe football and are diehard Cowboys fans like myself. Good game for the Cowboys. They won, if not soundly controled every faceted of the game; offense, defense, special teams battles were all won by the 'Boys. Thoroughly enjoyable game to watch with a belly full of turkey and pumpkin pie 4.gif

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'm surprised they couldn't score more points on the hapless Raiders, who IMO, was the weakest team out of the six teams in today's games19.gif...

Anyways, GB and DAL have won, so that means we're all 2-044.gif  DEN was was leading NY-G 6-0 in the 2nd last time I looked in on the score.

Well i had a crazy thanksgiving,

we finally beat our rivals [year in year out top 20 school] on thanksgiving, after being 1-16 against them all time. Finally won a 100% Conference title after about 20 years of never winning since moving into D1-A. And more importantly, going to the playoffs for the second time since 1986 [when we played in the central mass league as opposed to eastern mass] with a shot at a state title in gillette stadium 9.gif

Down 21-7 at halftime, came back forced double overtime, won on a fumble recovery. The craziest greatest thing i've ever been a part of, and even better was charging the field and pig piling with the entire student body, and the 30 minutes of celebration after that. Its an awesome feeling, and pretty much sumarizes the entire atmosphere of Thanksgiving football and high school football. It says something when your senior linemen who you thought were the toughest kids ever start breaking down in tears after finally beating AB whose been kicking around our school for 17 years.

As for the NFL slate of games, the cowboys looked really good yesterday. As for the Giants game....either the Giants are worse than we all thought, or the Broncos are better than we all thought, because everybody in the race for the title picked the giants.

That would be the Giants' defense doing what they do best: getting out of the way.

Although, the Broncos' offense is nothing to sneeze at, either. They just sucked less.

I have no idea why but Mapquest and Google Maps all tell me to take highway 84, when you are absolutely right, 114 is about an hour and a half quicker drive.

good week for me so far, 12-3, missed on Arizona, Giants, and Miami.

My xbox broke so my wasting time activities will be relagated to watching tv, in particular, football.  Probably should throw some studying in there as well...nah...

9-6 week for me thats rough...i thought i made pretty good picks on most of the games i got wrong, but alot of them where just coin toss "This team might be the better team today, but overall they are pretty much equal" games like buffalo miami, jacksonville san fransisco, seattle st louis, carolina new york...

I would argue that Terrence Newman has played superbly this year. Our defense as a whole has been phenomenal, with its stats being slightly skewed by turnovers on offense leading to starting drives deep in their own territories (see Packers game, Giants game, etc.). The defense also seems to have gotten over that hump where they were choking late in games. The scores in the Washington game and the Giants game may have been very different, but the end game scenarios were very similar; Tony Romo leads scoring drive, Cowboys take the lead, defense must come up with one final stop. the second game it came through, the first it didn't.

I seriously believe that the Cowboys present the greatest threat to the Saints undefeated season over their final five games.

On another note, what the heck is going on with the schedule makers? It is like they are trying to perpetuate the lame persona of the Cowboys choking in December. Their December schedule is ridiculous; Giants on the road, Chargers at home, Saints on the road, Redskins on the road. So nobody bring up the December woes that the Cowbys have experienced in years past, this is a different team this year, and if they go through another rough month, it will be because of the schedule, not because they are "weak of heart"...

Can anyone remember a game this decade where a tom brady led patriots team got as thoroughly dominated as they did last night? There was a short period in the first quarter where the patriots appeared poised to go up by two touchdowns, but other than that they basically got their butts kicked. Thats the first time i've ever said that the patriots just flat out suck...this wasn't just one of those losses that happens because you win some lose some, this was a thorough manhandling.

I think its a) a testament to how incredible the saints are this year, I can't ever remember seeing a team other than the 2007 patriots like that,

and b) a testament to the fact that the patriots are in many ways a rebuilding team right now. The entire offensive line is depleted, there was one opening day starter on the line last night. They are missing Light, Neal, Koppen, and Kaczur. You can't expect them to be able to compete with any good defense when they are starting second and third string linemen. The defense has a lot of talent, but its young, and young defenses make mistakes, which we all saw on that Devry Henderson touchdown which was one of the worst broken plays by the pats i've ever seen.

For the patriots, the real struggle is getting that second seed and getting that O-line healthy. Despite the fact that they looked trashy last night, they still seem to me to easily be the best team in the AFC if they can get a healthy O-line, maroney hasn't run like this since 2006. Brady tore apart Indy when we played them. The secondary is only going to get better from this abuse they have taken by Indy and New Orleans.

We all know where the Pats, or any other AFC contender's season is going to end though...against New Orleans. Hands down, the best team in the league. The only team that can touch them is Minnesota because Minnesota has a good defense and Adrian Peterson can tear up that weak saints run D [which doesn't get tested in those blowouts, but maroney racked up 100 yards in the first half last night almost]

Edit: The most worrysome stat for the Pats has got to be the 6-0 home record versus the 1-4 road record. Its gotta make any fan nervous when they see that in there team...

notice how i always write a ton when the pats lose?

Yes, you over-inflated windbag3.gif...but at least you're not making excuses that don't have some truth behind them.  Most other fans would be making one excuse after another.  For that, you get an few claps of the hands2.gif
