I got 5, it's crazy , and haven't really had time to view CJ's lately.

Fortunately people don't seem to mind to wait, at least, I hope not, or I'm going to have a lot of angry CJers lol

I had to learn that the hard way, Twiggy. So many edits. But eventually it all worked out.

Ok guys, this is my first CJ Review. I hope to receive some suggestions for this.

    Julianopolis

    jugioh1012

Julianopolis is a tropical CJ by jugioh1012 in which he plays with different techniques and ideas. Upon entering, the reader quickly notices the Latin theme. Julianopolis is covered by rainforests and tons of trees, a real treat for the eyes. Many of the buildings are Maxis, but jugioh uses colorful houses and shops in his cities to bring life to his creation. He also throws in a few touches with Photoshop, giving the reader vibrant images in every update.

    julianopolis2yb1.jpg

The BATs chosen by jugioh embrace Hispanic culture, giving the CJ a tropical feeling. The photoshopping is well done, even if a few of the pictures are a bit too bright for me. jugioh uses several different color themes for the text in his images. The colorful photoshopping adds to the images and makes every update unique. He even tackles rainy GIFs a couple of times. Photoshop is just so much fun, isn't it?

    julianopolis1aq3.jpg

You’ll notice that jugioh also uses Photoshop to make massive one-way avenues. His roads are also supplemented by loads of taxis and traffic, only adding to the activity the reader senses in his city. This picture is from the CJ’s very first update (If you can’t find it, look for page 1 and post 1).

    julianopolis3iy9.jpg

This picture is one of my favorites. I'll let it speak for itself.

Just to Sum it All Up

Julianopolis is colorful and lively. The CJ is rather small, but it's fun. Not only is Julianopolis a CJ; it is a place where jugioh displays several tropical-themed pic

    Good first review!

One suggestion, Use "paste from word" or "paste as plain text" button (I think that's why those smilies are there! Edit: nevermind, they are gone, lol) But otherwise it was very well written.  9.gif That sounds like an interesting CJ to visit.

Masochist:  That's what I thought, lol.  So what's the difference between unactive and inactive?  18.gif

There is, but it's incomplete...and two of the reviewers are listed as "unactive" (including patriots himself) and one as "inactive."

The New Carpathia Confederation of Planets II: Destiny’s Call by Zelgadis opens with a dramatic, well-made video and a thorough introduction of characters.  Although I’m totally lost already (reading sequels with no knowledge of the background can be confusing!), it definitely looks exciting.

    silmarilwide.jpg

Carpathia II seems to embody the whole sphere of sci-fi: starships, Trek references, subtle Star Wars themes, superdense cities, and advanced technology blend together to form the desired otherwordly feel.  A highlight of this futuristic CJ is the hilariously “warped” sense of humor (according to some of the commenters) that Zelgadis sprinkles into the dialogue.  From traffic-jam UDI jokes to “cocaine from heaven,” I could hardly keep from falling out of my chair laughing!

Even if you don’t especially enjoy story CJs, Carpathia II has something to offer in the way of eyecandy.  Although some of the cities are packed with grids and skyscrapers, Zelgadis incorporates a surprising amount of greenery and parks.

    tstdkpark.jpg

Detailed, bright, and colorful, close-up shots display the time and effort the author has put into his work.

    carpembhotel.jpg

Special attention is given to important buildings such as the Carpathian Embassy, Parliament Building, Finwe Manor, and the fantastically tall Velascoma Associates Building.

Strong points: Zel combines interesting city planning and storytelling with the funny and dramatic episodes of his lovable (well, and a few not-so-lovable!) characters.

Suggestions: Perhaps not so much Maxis, although I know how annoying repeats and Maxis BATs can be.

Bottom line: Polished, witty, and full of surprises, Carpathia II’s story is a compelling read.

Great review! Fair and balanced. 9.gif Thanks so much for doing this!

I agree with you on the Maxis part. I really haven't spent as much time as I should building variety in the "growable" department...
