Shin Shao is a growing city with a current population just over 45,000, with around 1,000 new homes authorised or under construction.  There's a great sense of community, a vibrant city centre, and plenty of things to see and do around the area if you're here on a visit.

It has grew a lot since the last time we visited it. Many new apartment buildings to the north - east were authorised to be built.

Street layout for future residential development:

Maybe a bit useless question, but how did you create such a fantastic, realistic, landscape?

Dead_End: Everything you see on the map was hand terraformed (in-game). There are some parts on the region that weren't hand terraformed - that's where I used SC4 terraformer (a powerful tool for map making found on the "Mods and Downloads" tab of the STEX).

Ohh, and welcome to Simtropolis! 9.gif

Very nice pics. I especially like the new appartements and the lay out around them with the trees, the houses and the curved roads. Looks very realistic.

CraigKingOfIreland: Thank you for your comment! I hope I will satisfy you with this update!

art128: Thank you my friend! Wait till you see the whole region in full resolution! And that's all because of you! 9.gif

Petrovar Ambassador: You wanted more? You have it!! Thank you for your reply.

CarmineHilton: Yeah, it's lovely isn't it? There aren't many trees in the region and that's because I'm a bit lazy...but soon there will be many

trees and beautiful hills and mountains.

pikatchoum: Yeah, the apartments look very good! The only downside of them are that they appear as commercial lots =/ . Thank you for your comment!

    kelistmac: Thank you!

    ShinShao-2Dec171232919564copycopy.jpg

Anyway I have just downloaded (ok not "just", but 1 week ago) the January version of NAM and the RHW - why is it called rural highway? It obviously hasn't the "rural" feel in it 9.gif. I have built a rail network in Shin Shao and I will make a transit map soon - when I have time. One thing I found out about NAM is that the FAR puzzle peaces can be EXTREMELY useful!

Shin Shao is getting bigger and bigger. I don't know the exact number of population, but it is around 30.000. Not many, huh? My goal is about 100.000 - 150.000 residents. To achieve such a number the mayor has authorised construction of many new apartment buildings to the north, northwest and northeast. While the south bank of the river running throught Shin Shao still remains unpopulated, there are speculations that the Mayor has plans to populate this place with low to midrise buildings. Some even say that he wants to build a golf course, which will undefinitely boost his rating with the rich sims.

Here are some aerial photographs of the northern part of Shin Shao, where the mayor plans new residential development:

And to finish this update: two pictures; one taken at night, and one taken at sunset:

Your city looks really nice and realistic and it's great to see so many green areas in the city. The long Island that looks very developed in your regional shot reminds me of Manhattan a little bit.

art128: Yeah it's extremely big! But I plan to expand it to the north so it should be even bigger!

suomi2005: You're actually the 4th person to say that. That one of the islands looks like Manhattan. If you say so I guess it's true. Thanks for your comment!

    haljackey: Thanks m8!

Hawkeye9: Of course I plane to develop it all! Wouldn't look good if I didn't ehh? 9.gif Thank you for your reply!

    Tomasneto: Thanks!

CraigKingOfIreland: You don't give up easily do you? 9.gif I'll think about it, and maybe I will destroy 1 of those parking lots.

Hi all! Did you miss me? 9.gif I had some troubles with photobucket, because I exceeded my monthly bandwidth 46.gif

But don't worry, I haven't stopped playing and I'll show the result today.

Here is a picture of the oldest paper factory in the Nagiosaki region. It has currently just over 1.000 employees.

    The Radio signal tower:

    Family life in Shin Shao:

R$$$ demand has seriously increased with the construction of the new train station. Many rich sims find Shin Shao as a place of great business opportunities:

Finished development on the hill North of Shin Shao:

That is it for now! Stay tuned for more updates in the next week.

Hope you liked it. Please leave comment! Thank you!

your city looks really good, fantastic actually, your region is great too. just one thing i should say

i think its gonna take alot of time i know but i think you should let your suburbs extend for a while mybe...so maybe let it extend around the right side of the airport and all the way up to the isolated city, maybe where the farms are even and on the right mountain where your seaport is maybe around thre and stuff but i'm sure you still gonna do all that right??

    looks great though.
