This problem seem to happen mainly with various desert mods: Canyonlands, Painted

Desert, Desierto_Heblem, Monument Valley, Desert Mod and the THL Desert mods.

In these pictures I'm using the Desierto_Hablem mod and it is currently a dark beige.

I plop something like a road or building, or just zoom in or out and I get this.

Notice the light area around the road that was just plopped.

Now If I zoom out, the whole map changes colors.

I suspect it might be a conflict but I can't find what it might be. Any suggestions will be greatfully received.

Different altitudes have different colors. If your map is uneven, this could explain the color difference. I cannot explain This One other than you plopped something and the ground was at a certain altitude, and the ground stayed that way. The texture also may be that way, since sand doesn't all have just one color.

I have the same problem, but with the Columbus terrain mod. I think it's a conflict of some kind, but I haven't found the problem yet. My plugins are a mess. Sorry I don't have any solutions or workarounds. Just letting you know that you're not alone!

It's actually not a file conflict or bug or anything like that.  It is the "seasonal effects" of the terrain mod.  The terrain actually can appear different any time you save the game or alter it in any way (including when you build roads/place zones), depending on the time of the game year in which you do it.

Threw me for a loop the first time I saw it, too, but it's actually supposed to do that.  It's especially noticeable on "snowcapped" terrain.  The Maxis terrain even does it to a degree.

First of all, I apologize for the picture size. Hope the new size is in guide lines.

If the color changes are do to seasonal issues in the program it would be really helpful if someone could do a mod on them so this does not happen. The Teirusu desert mod and the THL Terrain Pack do not seem to do this.

Thanks to you all for replying.

The work was put into them so they would change. It's so the terrain is not massively repeaditve.

The image size hasn't changed, it's always been a 800x600 pixels, the new part is you can use an image size of 600x800 pixels.
