arlight then, i think it is about time to shake things up!

while i will still be showing New Auria now and again, as always, it gets slightly boring working on only one region. so as not to completly Limit myself on a single type of building styles, i will be bringing to you my readers both the stories of New Auria and the Building of Flauritar (Floor-i-tar). both will be related and connected in future story lines, but i thought this would be much more intresting and wouldn't stifle my "creativity". so, without further ado, i would like to introduce you to the Flauritar Metro Area. i hope that you all help take part in the building of this future metropolis!

    3.jpg

thanks to NHP for creating such a wonderful map!

aaglo: looks like we do, and no they aer not in the same region, actually, they are two tottaly opposite regions and cities, but we will see what happens won't we!

JJC12321: i like that sculpture too, i don't know if it fit sin real well ther but i couldn't think of any better object to place there..

    SirUnger: glad you liked it!

flyinbird93: thanks, i didn't think of them as a nice touch, more as a neccisity. i need to get some population somewhere!

art128: thanks for stopping by, i try to do my best!

Schulmanator: yayyy, no more death crystals. they were getting on our nerves!

metarvo: why thank you metarvo! i'm glad you all like the CBD, even though i didn't put much work into it, lol

fabsies55: thank you fabsie, while it is true, the uptown could use some more skyscrapers, it was just supposed to be the "small skyline" compared tot eh midtown and downtown skylines, but now that i have decided upon Flauitar, all of what you hasve seen is temporary and really not of much use now..... or is it?

suplado!: alirght, i'm glad you like the small buidllings and residential, all credit is due to maxis of course. i don't see how you saw a shore town really as this city is extremely far inland, and there are only surrounding rivers, but then again, i didn't show a region shot yet.

ilikehotdogsalot: i'm so glad, i've been waiting for what feels like ever to find a place to use it!

blue sinjid: thanks blue, i tried to incopoarate all of midtown's major componets in that shot and i think it came out pretty well.

deathtopumpkins: yayyy, another person likes my golf course and trees! thanks for stopping by DTP.

JJC12321: of course i don't JJC, you can find it here, have fun and FOURRRR!

haljackey: thank you so very much hal, that is exactley what i was aimign for in this update!

Mother of Invention: thanks fo rthe advice, but i'm sorry, i don't recall where i found those road dividers.

kj3400: yep i do, i wait until june to take the pics so all Peg's seasonal woods are in there summer green awsomeness

jacqulina: thank you very much, always a pleasure to hear from you!

Godzillaman: LA you say, what an honor, such a beautiful city (except all the pavement and scum and stuff) to be compared to! i most definitely hope you stop by again, thanks for the compliment. (and yes, it is alot greener lol)

    Ntq$310: thanks NTQ

fabsies55: the round top, that would be an opera house, i think i found it by searching opera and concert on the STEX. and yes, i realize most of the city is basic grid, i intended that to discipate the farther away you got from the CBD, but.....oh well

Hawkeye9: wow, thank you so much, so many kind words.... aww, shucks man! i try to do my best and intend to keep up the good work!

    a little explanation, well due.

upon realizing that a centurary standing war debt, that was long thought paid, was actually never paid, the Republic of New Auria went about collecting what was theirs. the gerrana federation (to whom owed the debt) was a fairly wealthy nation with a population of 7 million. they have long been in possesion of a beautiful parcel of land, that for reasons no one could figure out has never been inhabited, and has been losing the federation money. so, when the Republic of New Auria came to collect from their debters, instead of handing over a check, the Gerrana federation handed over a deed to the Flauritar Territory. the parcel of land has been orginized into the Flauritar; Colony of New Auria and a governor general has been instated.

the folowing updates will be about the construction of a new city in the newly aquired colony of Flauritar. a budget of 100 billion has been allotted to the project. hopefully, in the long run, a sustainable municipality will be established and it will be a  major world city making New Auria plenty of simoleons!

    2.jpg
so far, only a vague master plan has been conceived by urban devoloper and world reknowned architect Ceaser Pelli. this plan only dictates the location of the city, but as it unfolds, i will be sure to share the blueprints with you all! the yellow indicates location of the(future) city limits of Bal Eruas.

    1.jpg
the construction workers homes, they are provided to the workers thoruhg the state at no cost. they are temporary however and when the projec tis well under way, they will be demolished to make way for bigger and better things

    4.jpg
As of now, the terraforming crews have moved in to tame the waterfront and clear away all the trees (and plant new ones in specific locations)whilst the masons prepare the seawalls for what is hopefully a very beautiful and scenic sea side walking paths. in addition to this, a central beltway has also been partially constructed that leads from the construction workers homes to future dowtown.

    newyorkrunaway1: por que!?!?!?!? 47.gif

hamsterTK: 10.gif  thank you, i intend to go in depth later on, but the first three or so updates will just be pics and very little story

Hawkeye9: yeah, i think the seawalls turned out pretty nicely too, the really low terrain makes the sea walls looks alot better in my oppinion!

kj3400: i sure hope so. i don't think any assumptions can be made at this point, but i will do my best, thank you!

SirUnger: i hope you will stop by again to see how things turn out!

    *FAST FORWARD*

and we take a look to see how the town has grown. note, their isn't alot of custom lots or buildings right now because devolopers are slightly cautious to see whether or not Bal Eraus will take off and become a large enough city.

    2.jpg

an overveiw of devolpments so far. remeber, it has only be a few months since construction began. already, we see downtown taking root with small businesses and the beginings of a highway system.

    3.jpg

across the river are two cement facilities/plants. the purpose of the two buildings being to create cement to be made and used withing the city so there doesn't have to be shipmants ordered from elsewhere (mainly New Auria and the US) . these plants are only temporary however, as there are condos planned to be in there place in the future.

    4.jpg

as said previously, downtown starting to take shape. through the center, the multi-lane highway turns into an avenue in order for easier accesibilty and not to take up otherwise unused space.

    5.jpg

the central train station. it is rather large, but devoloper and Architect (along with planners) are banking on heavy rail usage. the building was designed to be a landmark within the city. there isn't a name for the train station yet, so the first one to post the word "Spore" and then suggests an (appropriate) name gets to name it, lets see who notices this first shall we!

    9.jpg

in order to get the most out of the land, planners have submerged the rail line under the downtown so trains can run underneath the earth whilst cars and people can go about on the surface. the trains and rails will re/un submerage farther out in the suburbs.

    6.jpg

remeber the Constuction workers homes? well they have been demolished and have been rebuilt into more middle class residential community homes. the constuction workers were allowed to buy the homes if they wanted or they were allowed to mover any where else they wanted and could afford. pay no attention to the windows sign and the times in the bottom hand corners 9.gif 3.gif.

a big thanks to SirUnger and art128 for there comments, i hope i don't dissapoint!

another big fast forawrd and we see 2 years into devolpment of Bal Eraus. a definitive center for commerce has devolped in Bal Eraus with numerous high end shops and world known businesses opening there doors to consumers in Flauritar, New Auria. it all started with the Apple Co. big move to put a store in the risky begining market of Bal Eruas. well, in weeks that store did fabulously even with a meager population of 20k in the city. other stores, encouraged by the success of Apple and the low tax rate, moved in doing equally well. more and more stores found themselves opening shop in Bal Eruas and not before long, a clear downtown shopping Mecca was created with clubs, shopes, hotels and offices and of course Sims who come in hords and flocks every day and night to spend money there. this is just the beggining of a burgoning Commercial Empire..... in time it will unfold!

    1.jpg

Fulworth Sqaure, named after President of the Republic of New Auria, Steve Fulworth. it is the most popular and visited location in the city with many world known corporate names adorning its sidewalks and streets with neon signs and flashy lights. Simoleons flow freely through these stores offices prompting many to wonder if this "reccesion" is really real.

    2.jpg

rows and rows of Shops compliment the treelined divided 5th Avenue. the tall building in the foreground is the Chicagan Hotel, named after the architects inspirations of buildigns in Chicago, Illinois, United States. it is the larges and only hotel in Bal Eruas currently so it sees alot of business from people visting the devolping city. it is planning the grand reception of the President of New Auria in a few monthes time in his visit to the Colony. the news of the visit has not been made public yet so, SHHHHHHHH keep it a secret 22.gif

    3.jpg

The Apple store that started it all, with blatant advertisemants on its walls, it fits in well with the surrounding buidllings of Fulworth Square.

    4.jpg

a frontal veiw of the four buildigns nicknamed Office Row, housing the largest businesses (not retail) in the region. together they employ currently 5000 of the region's White Collar workers (and in the case of the hotel, bel-hops), though there is still office cubicles to fill!

from left to right are the Lumbar Building (primary tenant; Air Product Inc.) , Chicagan Hotel (primary tenant; Chicagan Hotel Co.), Fogel Center (primary Tenant; Orsen & Wells) and 1500 5th Avenue (primary Tenant; Calander Corp.)

    5.jpg

service roads behind the buildings allow for deliveries to be made by big n' ugly tractor trailors to the stores without dirtiing up and ruing the "overall effect" of 5th avenue. to cover up these service roads from behind, grass was planted and then surrounded by thick, yet beautiful seasonal foliage.

    6.jpg

a zoomed out veiw showing numerous stores along 5th avenue. in case you were wondering, the original price for a lot along the road was only 75,000 simoleons, but because of the glitz and glam that has come,  the minimum for a lot is 900k (thats for a small, itsy bitsy store) along fifth avenue. but they can go as high as 3 million for a corner shop.

    7.jpg

we soom out more to reveal waterfront. i know, there is*alot* of maxis there.... but hey, i never intend to plop the entire city! who do you think i am Aleking?

Till the Next update, comments are welcomed and appreciates!

    yours truely,

    -spore415 President of teh RNA

LOL  NMUSpidey, don't worry, thats just a one time price and the store is yours. i think you would save money just buying a shop for 900k then renting it for 75,000 a month however  (1 year for 900,000 or ever for 900,000. your choice!)
