Facinating - they got the order of the colours correct on the packet but not on the graphic beneath...

Obviously they have not met my science teacher Professor Roy G. Biv.quote>

I had him too...He was very colorful, never dull and gray, but bright and vibrant.

(You see what I did there? The pun and....oh never mind.15.gif)

My year 9 science teacher was cool...   I still distinctly remember him unexpectedly smashing a lump of sulphur on his desk to smithereens with a block of wood to demonstate 'brittle'...  burning ribbons of magnesium and chucking lumps of potassium into a bowl of water...

Trying to remember if there was anything about rainbows....

So we've gone from rampant, obsessive speculation to formal discourse?  5.gif  Where did we go wrong?

Goes to look for Oxford English Dictionary in case we need it...er...in the event that it becomes an item of necessity.

I like "what in the name of soda fizz is . . ."

funnier than the version I grew up with.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

    Thanks for your welcome Streetwise...

By the way, has anyone noticed that the site has been down erratically for this past weekend? It started happening soon after I became a member here, (I don't want to be the reason behind it). But I think Dirk might have something to do with it. Either way,...

    It is BIZARRE!22.gif

    Does anyone have an explaination?

Yes, Dirk the Daring (or Dashing) sometimes notices that the ST Server, which is actually a toaster, um, needs the crumbs emptied out.  When I cleaned my toaster, I used to get crumbs all over and ended up with a real mess.  So now I just take it outside and dump it.  After that, who knows what Dirk will do.

Or...in the interest of formal, mature (it can't hurt, Craig) discourse...

That's affirmative, Mr Dirk Dashing, Webmaster occasionally undertakes the refurbishment of the ST Server, hereinafter known as The Toaster, to dislodge any unneeded or misplaced fragments, hereinafter known as crumbs excuse me cragments.  He must accomplish disconnection of said Toaster to facilitate an efficient process of extracting and realigning said crumbs cragments.  As for the likelihood of this process being the harbinger of momentous site redecoration, time will tell.

    So there ya go.

Checks Oxford Dictionary for the definition of cragments...

    He's defragging the server.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Yes... back in the day I remember when ST used to run on a two slot toaster... which was pretty much adequate until just after I joined...   dirk quickly realised that more capacity was needed to accomodate my tiggerific bouncing ...  so we got a 4 slot... toaster...  with a 4 megabit super cray crumb tray...   of course that was nearly two years ago...

Facinating...  just been digging around in Google...  apparently running ST is just like playing the game...

Dirk: Sometimes when I think about it, it's kinda funny how playing SimCity 4 began to transcend into webmastering a SimCity 4 community. It's amusing to find the parallells between the two, and sometimes I think I am just playing SimCity 4 on another level. You still have demand to meet, and your actions either sway you toward popular or unpopular, and the thousands of members are always wanting one thing or another, and you really have to weigh what they want with the resources you currently possess. It really isn't too much different from the game, except I don't get to lay down roads. 3.gifquote>

So basically it is all about managing resources...   and toaster slots.

Oooooohh...  and there was even a nice pic to go with the interview...

Sorry for the small image size, it's the best I could find.

Now, how about a 10 slice toaster?

    Or a Darth Vader toaster?
