Simfox, they don't actually look like that anymore. That is an old model file used just for the LOTing. The new concrete is essentially identical to the one on the tower block and the "L" block.

Brandon: No, but you still helped me get ideas on how I wanted the base/overlay textures to be. I got tired of ME tying to lot it 3.gif Both you and Travis helped in me feeling things out.

Good news and bad news. There are still 3 other foot prints for just this building. The single tower, one "2 stack", and one "4 stack". O_o I'm not sure why I got myself into this mess. lol.Hopefully all of these lots will interconnect in a pleasing way. I might have to make a simple path/parking/playground pack that fits the style, but the biggest problem is getting diagonal paths that match. I'm thinking I can make props that should work, however you never know how badly those might turn out!

Well yeah, lotting is going to be a bit tricky, but as you suggested, if we made a little filler lot parks with the concrete paths as a set with no effect so that they don't screw anything up, it COULD work.  How that's going to look is more or less up to the user though

But if you want realistic USSR housing areas you're going to want it make rather spread out anyway. So it's more or less their choice if they want to plop park lots inbetween or just make it look mismatched.

Tried showing this to Todd on windows live yesterday, but it seems he was working, and therefore he probably missed it.

They're some lots i made for the single block, and the single block with it's buddy.   What's also neat with this is that they also match up with the 3stack blocks.

It's funny to see you on the LE instead of on the BAT so intensely, Glenni - but I gotta hand it to you: you're definitely good at it! 44.gif

That shouldn't be a huge problem. I only need to figure out halfways "plausible" (in game terms) occupant numbers for the individual buildings, and the rest is some primitive math and lookup in my personal stats database.

Any thoughts on this before I export? I might add a few lights on the stair towers, but I'm happy with everything else unless someone brings something up.

Like the new project Todd. Your buildings may be Eastern European in style, but they work just as well in capitalist environments as inner city housing projects. The new one is nice and bland, but the jutted up top gives it some visual interest. The textures are great, but I might lighten the roof just a tad (I'm talking like maybe by 5 in photoshop). Nice to see the Pripiat on the stex today 4.gif

Haha... tanks. Maybe I'll get my old pal El Burro to lend me some tank models to use 3.gif

Spa: I'll have to see how it looks in game. It is identical to the res to the buildings, so I'm assuming it is simply the contrast between the light walls that is making the effect so prominent. thanks by the way 3.gif It took me a few hours to come up with a believable tile texture to use for this!

Ah, art. Just the man I wanted to see! I almost started the Pool, but then I thought of you and figured I shouldn't make it just yet. You really should let me know your plans about Pripiat, I don't want to make anything if you really want to 3.gif

You know, the apartments I can imagine normal people living in. But this building, all I can imagine are drinking, bearded men smoking cigars lounging in the public areas watching the seedy travelers, and stark dusty rooms with metal beds and worn mattresses. And the roof patio looks like a sniper's birds nest, lol

Weeeel, Haven't touched the BAT from a month now.. maybe i'll have to get back on it x) well yes, i'd like to try out the swimming pool, but maybe you can make an abandoned version of it ? Or I can make the two if I find the courage to do so... xD

BTW, may I have some of your textures? I'm really in lack of good textures from this area.

BTW² you have to tell me about the night lights, I really suck at doing this !

BTW3 Just need two snipers on the last floor of the Hotel, just like in CoD4 xD

Very realistic looking projects. Nite lighting looks beautiful. Perhaps in future to add some color to the day curtain textures? It will give a little more life to the building (the last white building). Good luck

Hopital? As in L'Hopital? I really don't want to any calculus right now.

It is actually a hotel, and was once a very cheery place, like much of Pripiat. I was planning on sprucing up the windows as I got further along with this. I'll get back to it at one point or another.

Well, I wasn't planning on sharing much about my upcoming uploads, but I am stumped on how to proceed with some path props that I made.

    STEX_path_02.jpgSTEX_path_01.jpg

Would it be best too upload them alone to serve as a dependency, upload them with the BATs they were made for, or should there be path/ filler lots to go with the props? I curious to hear what you, the downloading community, has to say about it.

I say package them with the lots as a mere dependency first. A possible path lot pack can be added at a later time should it be deemed necessary.

Btw, high usability as a standalone path pack is questionable anyway because I don't think these paths will be very slope-tolerant - have you tried plopping some test lots on slopes? Does it look any good? I might be wrong (heck, I hope I'm wrong!), but I fear that slope tolerance might not exactly be the strong point of this - otherwise superb - approach.

The diagonal and FAR obviously look like crap on a slope, but the orthogonal pieces look pretty nice on gentle slopes. If you used the small pieces spaced close enough together they could probably work on the higher angle slopes. That being said, you could always use the game's overlays for slopes (which is one of the reasons I matched the path textures up instead of making my own).

People who use these to connect the Pripiat lots or other commie-block complexes probably won't have too many hills to worry about anyway (that is, if they build them anything like I do).

I don't know, I just think it is tacky to link a BAT as a dependency just to take a few props from it. In this case people might be getting the potential path lots to use in conjunction with the BATs anyway, so it might be as big of a hassle.
