The nation's primary industries is petroleum refining, dirty industries, manufacturing, ship-building (a competitor for Germany), and tourism.

    Capital (and largest) city: Rollance

    Population: 14, 770, 000

    Government: United Republic

    Political Party: Conservative

    President: Jacques Girard

    Monarch: Queen Julie

    Official Language: French

    Update 1: Rollance

In this picture we see the average row buildings. Although the country speaks French, a lot of it's influence is from the Netherlands, as you can see by the architecture. The old landmark there is called La Tour de Rollance, or Rollance Tower:

A modern high-rise rising out of the smaller buildings:

    The Duprée Roman Catholic Church:

    003897592837923-5.jpg

The Rollance Port Tower is a modern landmark built by the Port of Rollance company:

Another church amidst the row-homes in Rollance:

Rollance has some nice open feels near the port, they were developed in the 1980's:

And for the last pic, just a another view of the city:

i like this. the only problem i have is the placement of the old houses, they seem to not match eachother.

    well, some at least.

try to put buildings that match in height next to eachother.

i love the modern right next to the historic, its very helsinki!

I like your city a lot! It's nice how you combined the houses and the churches. The only thing I dislike is the location: you have made my contry (Poland) smaller, but that's OK with me - it's just a CJ4.gif Good luck with Hesland and I am waiting to see the port!

nice city, but i see 1 problem: a country with that size and with a population of 14 million would be very, very crowded: the country on the map is about 10.000 square kilometer, so that's 1400 people/sq km.

@kylelies: the old, not matching, houses are the charm of dutch cities.

Here is the Port of Rollance update that I promised!

In this pic we see the Pond de St. Jacques, or St. Jacques Bridge, a modern landmark giving the idea of a mix of old and new in the city:

Amazing work with this City Journal, it has a quaint dutch feel to it that make it one of the more eye appealing City Journals I have read. In the first update, I really like the placement of Spinnaker Tower, and the Rollance Tower looks beautiful. In the second update, Ill Tonkso's City Tower looks amazing, and when paired with that lighthouse, it makes for an eye catching picture. In the third and final update, I like your use of Somy's, Fukuda's, and maybe Peg's seaport stuff. Really nice City Journal, I will look for further updates.
