PROLOGUE

In the beginning, a group of people ran away from their corrupt society. They searched all over the land, until they came to the fertile plains, and the majestic mountains they will soon call home. But they did not know the secrets that lie in the ground. The secrets that told the whole story of their ancestor's past. But for now, their they shall call their claimed land the Dragonawa Empire, and it's capital, Dragonawa Alpha.

I wasn't planning to, but I have lots of room, so there's a chance I might make an Asian city. =P

    MEANWHILE....

Our group of settlers have settled down in a remote valley far from the center of the region. Struggling to come up with a name, our unnamed heroes refer to various over-the-counter & prescription drugs, brands, and book bindings (This is often MY strategy for naming cities) from their past lives. Finally, they have decided the name be "Kellogg Valley" .

While building the first homes and stuff, they have realized that other refugees have immigrated to their settlement, meaning that the Empire will grow rapidly.

Hey there! Looks like a nicely shaped region, should be exciting to see what you do with it. Just a small aesthetic point, you have the grid on in your snapshots, your region would look even nicer without the grid!

    Good luck

Thanks everyone for your positive feedback! My current goal for this region is to have a population of 1 million, but I have plenty of time for that!

ANYWAY, back to our story. Our colonists have expanded east and southeast to accommodate the influx of refugees. The eastern one, Macmillan's Split, is named after a book publisher who published the book "Reasons Mining is Bad", which that very book was in a colonists bookcase. He died in a tragic mining accident (REASON #137!), so they named a village after him.

    v Macmillan's Split, now......

    img360/4836/macmillanssplitjan29011fd6.png

To the southeast, Delta Peak was founded. It is mainly used for the new lumber industry, but no axes have hit trunks yet, except for the rail heading south.

    img217/4365/deltapeakjan30012182258mb4.png

^ Not much to see, but the railroad crew working at night.

v The Northwest Quadrant so far.

WHILE WE WERE GONE (you were, I was slaving over my desktop working on MDA), our refugee region has expanded to the south, founding the towns around the rail lines Riverdale, New Ashcroft, and Intel Park; But as well the capital Dragonawa Alpha at the end of the line.

    img295/1750/dragonawaalphaoct701121mo6.png
^ The small, budding Empire's capital. It's tiny, for now...
v Logging, as shown in Kellogg Valley, is currently the top industry.

v An example of the natural beauty of the region. (Thanks to Pegasus for the Forest Observation Tower, and the ponds and streams!)

Of course you do. We all want to escape the unjust ways of a poorly governed society.

Yesterday, West Port was founded to accommodate the dirty, and later manufacturing needs of the MDA (or part of it). The break bulk seaport ships off and receives goods from far away lands. On a different topic, the needs of the people begin to diversify, new schools, libraries, and full scale power plants are being built.

Half of the time I'm on Simtropolis or sc4devotion.com looking for BAT's and Dependencies. The LEX has less selection, but has somewhat better quality BAT's and a better organizing system. Don't get me wrong, the STEX is pretty good, but it can use some work.

You like poorly run governments? 8.gif Lol, jk, of course you don't! No one likes poorly one governments! (At least I think no one does). Smoothly running secular humanistic govs are fine, as long as I have my rights, and my armoured units (Don't tell anyone!!). If Sims did have some religion, then they would worship Will Wright, their creator. Hmmm, Church of Willy....

On a side note, I think this might be offensive to Middle Easterners: 44.gif

    (More stuff tomorrow)

    Ummmm......yeah...

In my last post I said that I would post more stuff tomorrow, and it's been more than a week. I've been playing some other games (like OpenTTD, for instance), and well doing other things. Plus, I'm trying out using Mozilla Firefox. I got tired of IE crashing when I had Simtropolis, Youtube, Wikipedia, and CGN running.

In the meantime, here's some pics. The immediate bottom is what the Northwestern Quadrant looks like currently. You can compare it to the last one if you'd like. The far bottom is Dragonawa Alpha and West Port looks like.

    I have 4 pics today! 9.gif

I've haven't been working in the Northwestern Quadrant lately, since I've been developing the Capital and it's adjacent cities. The Sims are quite impressed by how quickly it's covered ground. The city has more than sextupled in a little more than 10 years! But up north, growth is only slightly faster than stagnant.

v Crews have to work extra hard to meet the needs of the budding Capital.

    img529/6978/dragonawaalphasep914122ci1.png

v Crews have also built a rather large bridge, to expand into the eastern half on the other side of the river. Also seawalls have been built to protect the coast from high waves.

    img230/9119/dragonawaalphamar131712mg7.png

    img115/9783/dragonawaalphaapr141712jz2.png

^ What Dragonawa Alpha looks like currently. We've switched to wind turbines for electricity because the old gas plant was to close to newly developed residential areas. (That black smudge on the upper right and left hand corner of the snapshot that has a straight edge is a dirty lens.)

v And finally what the Southeaster Quadrant looks like! (Notice the different colors of the neighborhoods.)

    img145/3105/metrodragonawaalpha1220mz3.png

40.gif< This is a rubber duck!!

Good work so far, this looks like it has potential. You still might have a way to go, but this is a far better start to CJing then most.

Looking forward to you and your city's development,

    -Todd
