yeai'd say its alright. its not good cause its all too simple like your suburbs seem to be repeating itself over and over again.

your entire avenues just have small offices on it.

its not that bad, so yea keep it up.

haljackey-Thanks but 1.2 million is a very realistic population that i will try to achive! I will put trees next to the freeways in a future update.

    edmonton_stinks-Thanks!

deathtopumpkins-Thanks and I am going to add trees and maybe sound walls.....

    Ntq$310-Do I detect a hockey fan?? Here is a semi-good update^

deathtopumpkins-Ouch! I nearly have a week in which it's a half day of no school.

fabsies55-i know i have to do a lot of tweaking....

patriots_1228- haha that's a good one! I think I will name it on one of the side rivers.

    Comments are all welcomed!!!!!! 49.gif

Great region transportation shot, and the bridge construction shot really adds to the realism.

However, please try to control the wealth of your suburbs. I really dislike the abandoned houses, as well as the mansions next to the shacks.

great work there. I will alert you though that the Bank of Flint does have a chance of failing so your region's economy is at risk, look at the afdes private topic for more.

nice updates, that teaser looks promising. the tall buildings seem to be nicely seperated with ground filler tiles. i have a question though, maybe i missed it somewhere, do you have any hills or terain height changes? all your pictures to seem very flat, i think some elevation changes could really work to your benifite. even the plains of kansas have some hills, shouldnt nebraska? all still looks good though, keep it up!

I like the color. I also like your ability to make cities that aren't enormous. Everytime I try to do such a thing, they get way bigger than I wanted. I look forward to more!

Nice! That is an excellent-looking downtown. And the color contrast looks great too, but don't adjust it too much, as I've found that some people's eyes don't take too kindly to adjusted color contrast. 2.gif

Update 16 - The City of Fairfax

Welcome to the newest city in the county,Fairfax. Fairfax has a population of 40,000 residents and it's continuing to grow every month!Fairfax's downtown is vibrant and full of young people. The city is planning to build a transit system within the city limits.

Below is an overview of downtown:

    overviewsv2.jpg

    downtownjp2.jpg

    Downtown:

    fairfaxeb3.jpg

City Hall (known for it's interesting design):

    cityhallxl6.jpg

The local Farmers Market. located on Market St. serves the residens of downtown and the city. Next to the market is the HBC or Halifax Broadcasting Center where local people go on TV and discuss local issues like transportation, housing, public saftey and much more.

    farmersmarketfl6.jpg

The Fairfax Mall is a popular hangout for teens on the weekend. The complex has 5 movie theaters and 204 shops and boutiques. Across Broad St is the Fairfax City Science Center where you can find local schools visiting the center and viewing interesting science exhibits!

    mallzw2.jpg

Welcome to Chinatown, where there are 4,000+ Chinese immigrants from mainland China. Chinatown is a popular place mainly for the food! Would you like some chow mein?

    chinatownap0.jpg

Located in the center of downtown is going to be the new Fairfax Hospital. With one copper and over 4,000 beds it will be the pride of the city.

    hospitalul5.jpg

The Fairfax waterfront is a matter of controversy because no one know what to put on the land. The city is in favor of extending the land and putting an arena and convention center on it. It could be on the ballot this November.

    waterfronthh3.jpg

Let's take a stroll to the Walter E. Bell Park. Bell was the founder of Fairfax and the city dedicated the park in his name. Bell Park is often full of families fling kits, riding on bikes, and having a nice Sunday afternoon picnic.

    lakeol9.jpg

Some typical homes in the city:

    homesic5.jpg

West Fairfax is full of condos! There  are so many people that it's putting a toll on the Bell Parkway(under the pic of West Fairfax):

    westfairfaxpd8.jpg

    trafficms1.jpg

Grant Park was the site of a not so famous battle called The Battle for the Hill. The battle took place during the Civil War. There are rumors said that there are people buried under the park but the city refuses to say so.

    towerjd7.jpg

This brings to the most peaceful place in the whole city, The Mayor's House. AHH!! The mayor just left to go to work. Too bad because he could have invited us inside and talked about his fine city. Well maybe next time chief.

wow the senators are doing good! Also the city of Fairfax looks just plain good, very surbaban too, it really is a perfect small business area!

Now just one suggestion, try and get alot more small businesses and small homes for your lowwise area, some diversity in those area's would look really good, across they look good now9.gif

Wow, that's a nice city there! But what happened to your overlay textures and some props on your lots? Looks rather odd...

Oh, and, for the waterfront, I'd build the convention center, with some nice big hotel buildings, and a little boardwalk or marina along the water.

    some things i could recommend....

*delete some of those duplicate buildings... it is very repetitive

*work on the downtown area... i would put it closer to the middle of a city tile and place less buildings, so close together

*work on the residential areas... the way the houses are laid out is odd

has a lot of potential, i will stay tuned

I need to ask myself, why don't here often! Nuce work on the downtown and many other things! So much to say, to much time. 3.gif

First of all have you ever thought of seawalls for your coasts? They look nice on the shorelines. Maybe a bit more custm content but the current level is enough. Nice downtown though! It is very detailed, and I like. Most of this CJ is very well done, I don't think that there is much to improve on. Nice work like I said earlier, can't wait for more! 4.gif
